Offloading the likes of Tilio, Johnston, Forrest and Turnbull is absolutely the right thing to do.

But why did it take until the last day for this to happen?!

We should have been proactively pushing them to clubs rather than waiting on offers.

Not a chance, sure they clearly weren’t being busy the last few months leading into this window. I reckon if Brendan stays they won’t back him with loads maybe one or two decent signings but if say he was to leave and we bring in a new manager they’d back them I think for their first window to appear as the system ahas changed then the next window back to the same old *

 

And a portion of wages being covered on whoever has gone out on loan

 

In fairness, we have signed new deals with Kyogo, McGregor, Abada, Hatate, CCV and O'Riley in the last 6 months alone. These new contracts will be significantly improved in terms of salary.

Which means, our wage budget has gotten even higher. So, getting the likes of Tilio, Kwon, MJ, Turnbull and Ideguchi off the wage budget or a portion of their wages paid is probably far less than the total of the new salaries we have given to the 6 players above. There were rumours that Kyogo went from £15k a week to £25k. McGregor went from £25k to £35k... so these contracts will have added a sigificant amount of money onto the wage bill.

In terms of the outgoings, Ideguchi and Turnbull will go for about £2.9m. Kuhn cost £3m.

I have no idea about a payment for Hjelde but I'd hazard a guess we are paying a loan fee of some sort for Idah and anyone else we bring in.

Btw I’m totally fed up of the narrative that our board is made up of brilliant businessmen.

We might have a nice balance sheet as it stands but good businessmen don’t settle for good. They want more.

I’m not sure how much exactly but I believe the CL prize money is bigger than normal next year. Let’s say £50m all in for qualification to groups, TV revenue, gate receipts etc

Surely the businessmen at our club want that prize money. A chance to make us even more profitable.

And we currently have a significant financial advantage over our nearest competitors that allows us to invest in our squad to massively increase our chances of winning the league.

Yet here we are relying on last day loans of unwanted and unproven players to merely fill gaps in the squad.

The only thing our board succeed at is incompetence and negligence.

 

My suggestion to anybody is to expect nothing, that way you won't be upset when Idah is announced near midnight.
