Find it weird people are waiting on a civil court ruling to decide wether or not they think the club are in the wrong.

Anyone can see we’ve been * awful in all of this regardless if a civil ruling says we have no financial responsibility are were separate from the boys club.

The fact is this is all about money and our board are so obsessed with it they’re willing to have our name dragged through the mud to try and get off of paying a few million quid or witever.

Said it before but if from the start it was said there was 100% no chance of any financial compensation then our club would’ve been out front and centre trying to act like the good guys and dishing out apologies all over the place.

    It’s * abhorrent.

I fail to see the point in any of your posts.

You either think we're liable or not.

Football clubs don't abuse people, people abuse people. If there were individuals who knew about what was happening and did nothing or even tried to hide what was going on then they should be prosecuted individually for their crimes, no argument. A football club as an entity is incapable or abusing or hurting anyone.

So you support people, not the club?

I don't know, because I don't know all of the facts.

You clearly do since you've stated we're liable -so why don't you try actually answering any one of the questions I've actually asked you and tell us exactly how we are liable?

The board won't be paying anything, as it will probably be covered by insurance (public liability maybe?).

I know we all hate the board for whatever reason, but isn't there small chance that they're actually going down said road because they believe they're correct?

    No.

If they were doing what they thought was correct they’d have apologised immediately instead of saying nothing to protect themselves.

It was effectively our academy where the abuse took place. There's statements and witness statements that'll prove our guilt.

Why are we even disputing this?

My old man is a witness having played for the boys club in the 70s.

Celtic are not liable. The old board members are liable

Hope the victims get some sort of compensation.

Not something I've really looked into. Largely as I would rather not. Horrid.

Goes past football any of this. I cringe every single time I see the point scoring lot come out on twitter, both sides of the derby. Sad day when grown men can't put football aside for something like this.

Been a disgrace how the club have handled this..

The likes of Jack McGinn and the Kelly's are utter filth and just as bad as the likes of Torbett for letting it happen or turning a blind eye..

    They make me sick..

What are you saying exactly? Celtic FC abused these young men? I support Celtic as a club and the people who make up the club, players, supporters etc. If a player or board member for example punches someone in the face that doesn't mean Celtic FC is guilty of assault. Or are you trying to tell me it does?

Nobody is disputing the abuse took place. Legal liability is different, and if Celtic and Celtic boys club were not the same organisation then there will have to be proof that they were aware or helped organise it.

Great Post, I feel we have not been vocal enough throughout this and need to be seen to be on the front foot. If the club needs to pay up then so be it. It will be interesting to see the aftermath as this must have been rife through football clubs all over Britain and our case may be the start, especially when the compensation is being handed out.

Letting it happen or turning a blind eye is some accusation mate.

Bit of a shambles but the best thing that could happen is everything coming out about who knew what about things that were happening. Everything needs to come out to resolve this whole issue.

Depends where it happens, who knew about it, was it covered up and were things put in place to stop it?

Admittedly, the last one is about sexual assault rather than physical assault.

Ok but it was pretty well known what the beasts were up to, no?

Jock even told them about it and he (Torbett) was brought back in..

    From the BBC...

'On Monday, Mr Mackay had told the court that lawyers for the men uncovered evidence which showed apparent close links between Celtic Boys Club and Celtic FC.'

'He said evidence showed that Celtic FC first became "aware" about rumours of abuse in 1970, with allegations repeatedly raised at club board meetings throughout the 1980s and 1990s.'

People high up at the club clearly knew what was going on. It's pretty obvious and damning what you've just posted as well..
