Got to love the boards stance on this, would have been funny if Brother Walfrid thought I want to start a football team for the forever * on starving Irish immigrants of Glasgow but eh * mixing politics and football! Or when we were told to take our Irish tricolour down Celtic went * aye no problem better not mix politics and football!

What about last year when the blatant cheating from Juventus caused Celtic to complain to the fat cats at Uefa because they felt the team was being harshly treated. Well Celtic what about the fans, in an era when a man attacked our manager at a football game live on tv but got away scot free, in an era where players have been sent bullets, famous Celtic fans and even politicians have been sent bombs through the post, of which you hear very little about convictions but you feel it is that bad that fans who are being lifted out of bed by police for singing songs or being searched 3 times before entering away grounds or being filmed for 90 mins, what can the fans do about this, they speak up, make points, fight their cause.

It's ok for Celtic to complaint to Uefa when they feel harshly treated, it's OK for Lenny to blast every bad refereeing decision, its OK for you to fight your corner but not the fans. If you dealt with what the fans are trying to tell you here Celtic instead of trying to * off Uefa then we might get some unity, we started as a club catering for the trodden on * over people in society by politicians and employers and now you have denied the living wage and are denying some fans who have trodden over and * on by police the right to free speech all on two weeks.

    Is this the same club?

I'm disgusted by the club's statement. And by the support it has received from fellow supporters. Disgusted.

This episode has only served to make me want to express my Republican views even more.

It's not about politics or religion, it's about or culture, history and identity which a lot of Celtic fans can relate to. The whole "don't mix politics with our football club" argument is so retarded and childish.

Even the late great Jock Stein wasn't infallible at times.

I could post millions of quotes from club greats that praise us, means nothing though.

Are we allowed to sing The Fields of Athenry & Let The People Sing, songs of rebellion which are inherently political?

Why ask me? I don't make the rules. I was just sharing a quote of Jock Stein's from 1972.

What I will say is I don't want people to set up displays and banners which they know will get the club in trouble with the authorities.

In fact, more generally, where do you stand on Flower Of Scotland, Amhrán na bhFiann or * Save The Queen? I'd also like UEFA to explain themselves if their reason for pursuing this is political expression at football. If this isn't the case, it's because the display featured Bobby Sands MP, not William Wallace - which really exemplifies the display's message.

Well, you've had an opinion on the songs every time thus far.

Forgive me for being naive, but what is the banner all about?
