Ironically, if the full stadium acted the way the Green Brigade do, we would be getting praise for it. And the board, the council and every other * would be jumping right on the praise bandwagon.

Its * how he heroes of our support become the villains.:54:

"Come to glasgow and see the famous celtic supporters. theirs lateral movement, pyros and all sorts of cool *!"

Wouldn't be surprised if there's a Commonwealth Games-based reason lurking in the background.

Comparing a punishment for racism to the GB sanction is ludicrous.

Where are UEFAS bans for lateral movement? why didn't Apoel face sanction for letting of bangers in every European game they have played? Can you name one club in Europe that has been banned due to use of pyro and has repeatedly ben said in this thread but completely gets ignored, why is it only Celtic whos safety certificate faces this review when we have to other clubs in Scotland who have sections of their support who act in the exact same way.

So we've to take the stance that rules are there to be broken?

To be honest, I'm surprised they have been allowed to get away with so much for so long as it is. Say all you want that it isn't the GB, but it is. Its people who have moved seats to that section, or worse, people who slyly move over as the games go on. Either way, its to be a part of the GB. The same way we are all Celtic fans when we enter the stadium, and act on behalf of Celtic. Folk going to that section are thus in turn part of the GB. Officially or not.

as far as their antics, they have been warned about various stuff for years now, finally the warnings have came to this. And now you all scream about how they have been doing it for years, and nowt was done. But be honest, if Celtix had just shut them down at the first warning, you all would have been shouting about that being unfair, and to give them a chance.

as far as the debate about the change in stewards, I don't buy that either. The 111 section are ruled by the same rules as the rest of us, at no point should they need the working relationship of the same stewards. the stewards should be stewarding them as anyone else in the stadium, and if they weren't before, then why. Not? And why did they get away with being under a different set of rules?

As far as rule breaking is concerned, that section done it far too often. Be it over crowding, crowd surfing, fireworks, pyros, drinking in the stands, the songs they sang (very few were bad ones to be fair) but they continued to break all of that, and more. Without ever taking responsibility.

and lateral movement, I think the club could have used a better term, but I dare suggest that it wasn't simply the side to side motion, and this is a term used to generally describe the on going rammy that happens in that section during a few of the songs. Think the paddy McCourt song, and when they all jump around like nutters, guys jumping three rows in front of them, climbing over each other, and I will assume this is where the damage is done to seats.

so aye, they do a lot that isn't to the rules, and there is nothing about them that makes them a better fan than me or you, or that excludes them from the rules.

I support Celtic, not the Green Brigade.

ps. I won't bother to respond to the usual narrowninded fools who will jump down my throat on this view and claim some form of injustice. Just wanted my 2p worth

UEFA's control and disciplinary body can and have closed stadiums for unsafe behaviour from fans, what makes you think they wont do similar to Celtic?

We have been punished several times before by UEFA in the form of fines in recent years because of fan behaviour and if we are lucky we are looking at another one soon but it could be more than a fine. UEFA could easily argue that fines arent working on Celtic given our history of problems at matches in recent years and a stiffer punishment is required. Thats the worry of the board and it a correct logic.

I'm stunned to think that Celtic fans expect the board to accept unsafe behaviour from Section 111 because its the Green Brigade, that the risk of playing matches behind closed doors is an acceptable tradeoff to accomodate them. It isnt and never will be.

The board are personally liable for safety at CP and if you think they are going to run the risk of going to jail for negligence then you are deluded. Warnings have been issued and ignored. There is a procedure for the board to follow and they will follow it to the letter because they arent going to risk a conviction for people that dont listen. Its quite simple, most of the issues happen in Section 111, cut out the problem like a cancer. If the GB had common sense they wouldnt be in this position.

Well you've said your piece so thanks for that and goodbye.Place your fingers back in your ears and continue swallowing everything the board spoon feeds you about the jumpy-around bad-men who break the rules.

Mental that interview with Glasgow road by tommy crackpot radio.

Few things that standout. 'Lawell's hatred of the Green Brigade has been prevellant for years'.

Fan organisations told at meeting with club by lawell the green brigade are 'neds, scum, hoodlums and junkies' & saying the club payed for the 'Barcelona tifo'.

    Well worth a listen too.

Maybe after a good few homes games and the GB have had time to let all this sink in the board might be open to discussions with the GB on a future section and what the rules will be and how they will be dealt with if they are broken, maybe???

I'm pretty sure the framed photos of the displays and "Just Can't Get Enough" t-shirts etc should cover the costs of a few broken seats. But that isn't the big problem according to Celtic, it's the "lateral movement". If you believe that one.

I can actually see how the lateral movement is a problem though.

8/10 Stewards stand on the stairs round the section and when lateral movement is done, they get jammed and probably barged and bumped about in the middle of it. Imagine you were one of them having to work there and that happening. After every game the stewards who work there probably complain to whoever they work for about it and then the stewarding company will complain to Celtic about it and its went on for that long now that Celtic have actually had to do something about it.

And would you say this is more of a safety concern that 60,000 doing the huddle or celebrating a last minute winner? It's a pathetic excuse in my opinion. How many accidents has lateral movement caused in section 111? Or any section for that matter.

No but I doubt stewards would complain about the huddle or fans celebrating goals since they're never affected by it.

But people bumping into them from behind, in front and the side and crowding round them, id bet they complain about that every time it happens which is about twice a match every match.

I think goal celebrations are a given at football.
Whole rows moving side to side are not.

But it has been closed for safety reasons. And everyone is very quick to point out that the safety of the other fans is very important. So I would like to know what the figures are for injuries in the section. The board seem good enough at counting broken seats. It shouldn't take them long to tally up injuries that have taken place. People have brought up overcrowding as an issue also, I would question if the stewards are doing their job properly if that is a problem.

It's a few hundred fans. I think we have a good enough stadium to withstand that. I'm no expert in the area of structural engineering however.

Are you suggesting that the board should wait until there is actual injuries to fans before taking action? Are you mad? Thats negligence.

Removing people altogether from section 111 is helping the stewards do their job properly. People will go their proper seats now.

No but if the area is such a health and safety problem then there must surely have been injuries previously. I just don't know how the St. John's ambulance team manage to cope on matchday at Parkhead. If stewards are not catching folk from jumpin across section or coming out the wrong section, and it causes overcrowding, then that is negligence. They aren't doing their job properly.
