Theres actually more broken seats there than I would have guessed, I dont know how they manage to break seats since they never use them.

I thought 190 seats over 4 games was pure pish but looking at that picture which isnt the whole area, theres easily a dozen broke seats there.

Some people just refuse to hear a bad word said about the club and will believe everything they say the pictures shows nothing wrong with the seats and I highly doubt Celtic had any threat to their safety certificate if so the GB would have been shut downs years ago before they became big the "lateral movement" has been happening in the section for years

haha, they mean move them separately to other sections of the ground individually, otherwise yes, that would be pointless. :smiley-laughing002:

I truly believe that for the first time since 1994 the chants of sack the board are justified. the moral principles of which celtic are based upon are being compromised by people who have nothing else but to make money and to please everybody except the fans, the actual people who give their hard earned money to Celtic. In 1994 we chanted about sacking the board due to aid the club against the looming threat of extinction, a fight in which the fans won, this time it is needed to stop the oppression which the paying punters have been put under. Some people are on here criticising the green brigade for their role in the situation BUT what they need to understand is that this is bigger than just disbanding a part of the ground, the people of the green brigade are celtic fans at the end of the day they support the team they follow the team and they are paying money into the club. I know people constantly refer to the quote of Jock Stein but it applies more to this situation than any other experienced in modern times. Make no doubts about this needs to be a fight which not only the green brigade win but which the celtic support wins as a whole in the PLC win this i believe that the support has a bleak future ahead.

    ahh, ok :50:

Still won't work though. Obviously GB members will just get in contact with each other and sneak in together, or manage to move across and join up with each other.
Plus it wasn't just the GB who sang or moved at games, a good few hundred others dotted around the place did.

I understand Celtic's POV but simply, it won't work or have any effect. Things aren't unsafe as they are, and none of these measures will make them any safer.
Infact I think bringing back standing would make things safer, but the councils and fas in charge of football governance are ran by * idiots.

It's utter bullshit they spout. Seats near me have been broken for years , might as well blame that on the big bad Green Brigade.

you need a safety certificate to play in european competition, if we were in danger of losing this they really were left with no choice.

I'd like to see an area of the stadium have about 1000 seats removed and a standing area put in their place, give that to the green brigade and make sure nobody can enter it unless they have a ticket for that area.it'll keep the atmosphere in the stadium and also removes the chance of breaking chairs.

how will relocating GB members stop lateral movement ?

anyone care to explain! or is it ok for individuals to move laterally and it is group lateral movement which raises the safety concerns?

I think they are straight up using safety as an excuse. I think they wanted the green brigade removed to keep all the UEFA bigwigs happy.

I think its * cringeworthy that they are selling framed pictures of the flag display in the stadium the night we played Barcelona.

so willing to take the money for something the green brigade orchestrated

    then tearing their section apart

    love my team

but this decision is all wrong

In 1994 the fans fought to get rid of a board that was out of date and refused to adapt to the times. Their inability to run the club properly almost ruined us, and their failure to accept that football was changing meant we were being left behind.

So the club forced them out and instead replaced them with a businessman. A guy who saw the potential growth markets for a club like celtic, who build a shiny new corporate stadium, and who expanded our brand. Now after almost two decades we have reached as close to absolute domination as any team can get in their own country. Not only that but we have achieved it with zero debt and punching way above our weight in Europe at the same time.

We are now seriously discussing getting rid of the people who helped build this because a few fans repeatedly refuse to behave and cause bother. And people somehow confuse fully grown men setting off flares and smashing seats with the "moral principles of which celtic are based". If any other clubs fans came to celtic park and trashed 100 odd seats there would be an outcry. If rangers fans were issued with warnings from UEFA over their fans behaviour there would be a que of celtic fans lining up to call them "hunnish" and "animals". But when it is our own brand of idiot, just because they are self styled rebels, it is all just a laugh and we should all get onside?

The GB have been warned and warned. They have brought this on themselves due to a failure to behave and by actively seeking attention only to then cry when they get too much attention. I wouldnt close their section, but I can completely understand why the board have taken this action, and I would support the board 100% over a group of fans who think they are more important than the club or any other fan.

They're really not - in my opinion the idea of having a split among fans like this is surely the definition of something they would prefer to avoid.

SFA & SPFL have approved safe standing at matches. Celtic probably cant get approval from the police/council to implement it
