Cheers....it happens when someone either deletes part of the tag or they maybe bold a part of the quote and mix up two sets of tags.

Edit: normally you don't need to check them, but if you all check and delete anything that shouldnt be there from here then it will get back to normal :50:

The club weren't asked for a penny for the display vs barca, and I've not seen it reported anywhere that they were, I think you're just making things up to suit your agenda.

No problem. But it does seem extremely coincidental that two of us got 'mixed up' within a few minutes!

I think it has something to do with nested quotes because I noticed that my message quoted the guy who in turn had been quoted by the guy I actually intended to quote, er, if you see what I mean. presumably everyone that comes along after and quotes subsequent messages gets the same problem. I'm just guessing, though- I don't know much about these things.

If someone messes up one quote....every time the quote and subsequent reply is quoted it messes up, I'd sit and go through it and edit it myself but it's time consuming....thats why I've asked that you all check before hitting submit until the quotes are back to normal

When this thread has jumped multiple pages you can be sure their is someone posting absolute guff with absolutely no evidence to back up what they are saying.

    Step forward glasgowbhoy88. :smiley-laughing002:

Page upon page of him making outlandish accusations against fellow supporters and using provocative words and statements to describe.

How anyone can talk about fellow fans like that is beyond me.

I won't feed him though, that's what he wants.

Why would I need evidence to back up my opinion???

You need evidence when you accuse people like Lawell etc but, of course, there isn't any.

Just because it's been stated by an ill-informed MSM blogger with an agenda, doesn't make it fact. There's no way the GB would go to the club for financial support, they maintain a distant relationship with the club and have a vocal anti-establishment outlook.

It's a terribly dishonest article. Even if I were anti-GB, I would think it a terrible article. I don't want to criticise it in detail (it's that bad it would literally take me hours); but I would like to point out a couple of relevant things:

    1) He criticises the GB for not providing evidence for their claims; yet his article is full of claims not backed up with sources or evidence.

    2) He demands high standards of evidence for the claim that Lawwell was involved; yet regarding the harassment of the GB, he glibly states that "there's no smoke without fire".

These are the two most relevant points, though the article is full of little rhetorical tricks that I can only describe as dishonest: everything from putting "kettling" in scare quotes (when there is photographic evidence showing that is precisely what was done to them), through quoting a random unnamed supporter as if they were a representative sample of the Celtic support, to stating things the GB have never said to my knowledge, coupled with unsubstantiated allegations in such a way as to seemingly ascribe the attitude to the GB (though he isn't dumb enough to use quotes). An example of this last is the following quote:

No evidence is offered for any of this.

All in all it's an article that wouldn't look out of place in The Sun. Every time I read it I see more things wrong with it.

People behind computer screens telling supporters, who spend small fortunes following Celtic home and away, on how they should act and who they can and can't boo... it's laughable.

Just out of interest, does anyone know the reason(s) why the club asked supporters to stop taking flares and smoke-bombs to games? I'm sure it was something to do with some disabled supporters having respiratory problems- which is entirely understandable and justified, until of course Celtic put on a massive fireworks and pyro display themselves!

I think that ESPN blog/article might be up there with the genuine worst, most ill-informed, reactionary and least-balanced pieces of 'writing' i have seen all my days. :56:

Andy Muirhead has a very clear agenda against the GB stretching back years.

The guy has had his * handed to him on many occasions.

I was thinking that too, maybe an insurance thing or maybe you need a licence to let these things off at public events?

    I think you're right.

I just think for Celtic to ask supporters not to bring smoke-bombs to games due to people having respiratory problems, only for the club themselves to put on a massive fireworks and pyro display (producing quite a bit of smoke in the process!) is a bit bizarre.

I agree, but the attitude behind it is a problem with the whole of Western society rather than Celtic, so it's a battle we just can't win. :54:
You only have to look at the disgusting way smokers are treated in our country using exactly the same reasoning (I'm a non-smoker and always have been, so I've no axe to grind here).

The smoke on the pitch from the display is far enough away from supporters though to do much if any harm.
