This topic seems to be going off on so many tangents but for me the crux of it is that the GB have been a massive shot in the arm to Celtic Park at a time when the atmosphere hit new depths, I can recall the Gretna game and that whole period.

They are clearly being victimised, this is nothing new, football fans have always had to put up with unfair treatment from the law, the 80s were even worse, more so in England I would add where liberties were taken on matchdays with people who just happened to be going to a football game, they were treated like potential timebombs and the GB are being treated in the same way in recent times, in the GBs case they do not even have a violent or "firm" undertone unlike the 80s period.

They deserve more backing from the fans and the club but seem to be getting short shrift from what I see.

Alot of their politics does not interest me and a silent majority in the slightest (Particularly Palestine/Basque stuff) but I dont see anything in their banners, songs which should be getting the backs of the authorities up and making them treat them like some sort of terrorist group ready to go on the rampage.

Would be interesting to know if Blue Order or whatever the huns group is called are getting similar treatment from the law, to be honest I would be surprised if they arent!

Do you remember the miners strike rich that was when it really intensified. They didn't take away our civil liberties as such they just decided to put laws in place, that would curtail them. They put in place legislation that could stop you driving your car down a road, they could stop you and arrest you for * all. If they "believed" you were going to a picket they could arrest you. I went on strike several times to support the miners, to no avail cause they killed their industry. The point here is the boys of the green brigade need our support and they need it now. They are being victimised for their beliefs and their political stance. I do have some opinions about palestine and the basques that I don't really express at a football match but if the :icon_mrgreen:gb do let them. Our whole identity as Irish catholics has been trampled on in the west of scotland. Really our only expression of that has been our football club. The orange order who have * all to do with scotland can parade up and down our street to express their "identity" yet a bunch of young politicised boys at a football match are criminals. * me what's the world coming to?

I don't agree with the miners comparison because that was just in a different galaxy to anything happening to the GB but I absolutely agree withh your underlying point.

there has to be some dialogue as to what the problem is.
its a disgrace that police time is taken up harassing football fans.
if you look at the you tube vid.of the huns wrecking our toilets
a year or so ago while the police stood and watched it makes
    me mad.
if the G.B. were fighting every week(casuals from 80s),or shouting racist abuse (millwall)
or continuously singing hatred of another religion (you know who)
i would understand but for a few banners (which have been brilliant)
this is way over the top.
dont know another clubs fans treated this way.

Regardless of what happens, people saying CP will be like a morgue without them is wrong. Near the end of the game yesterday the whole stadium got singing. We are just too used to letting the GB get on with it. A few weeks without them and it will pick up.

(Not saying I want them to go or anything just making a point)

I'd be very surprised if there was any sort of atmosphere in your bog standard SPL games if it transpired that the Green Brigade were to be permanently persona non grata at Celtic Park.

    Just my opinion right enough.
