if people think talking to the GB is going to stop RA chants they are mad. Its not the GB that put these add ons, they were here long before the GB were around. Why are the GB getting the brunt of this? I can assure you at most away games its not the Gb member's that put the add ons into the songs.

They clearly have a big influence on the songs that are being sung at CP, and probably away as well. I agree that they probably dont sing as much as the add ons as has been suggested, but if Neil can get the clubs standpoint over to them, then perhaps they can influence what is being sung.

And I dont see this as a negative thing for the GB, they are clearly being approached because of their impact at the club.

Ultimately though, the Club are bigger than any fans, group or singular. If they listen to Neil and Celtic then are doing right by the club.

The Green Brigade are responsible for starting 99% of the chants/songs heard at Celtic matches today. That's the truth. I'm not saying that I don't like what's being sung. The opposite actually. They sing the songs that I listen to and sing along with every night of the week.

But to suggest that they are not responsible for the so called "offensive chanting" is ridiculous. Whether we see it as offensive or not, others clearly do and the fingers will always be pointed at the GB. They are the most vocal representatives of our football club.

Dont get me wrong I think meeting with the club is a good thing but maybe it should be more than just Lenny.

At Parkhead they have alot of influence on whats sung, im not so sure on away days. And can they be to blame for every ned that shouts up the RA.

Im also from the point of view that most songs they sing are ok, I dont like the add ons and would like to see them gone, but I dont think the GB should be held accountable or scapegoated like they are.

The songs were sung before the Green Brigade existed and they'll probably be sung long after there gone. To place blame on them is completely ridiculous in my opinion.

I dont think in this case Neil is holding them accountable, and I think its better that he speaks himself. Sometimes easier to speak a little more informally and not have it seem as a heavy push from the club. Neil has been through more than any fan or anyone connected with Celtic in the last couple of seasons. His opinions deserve to be listened to.

They cant be blamed for everyone that shouts the wrong stuff, thats for sure, but they clearly have a lot of respect from fans and people look up to them. Im sure that if they led a new perspective in what is being sung, then many would follow them.

No they can't, but 'ooh ah up the ra' seems to come from their section at every game.

Yes they seem to have alot of support from the fans they also have their critics, but it just seems that they are getting the blame for every thing that is sung. If the talks help thats all well in good, but because they are not 100% responsible for this chanting the meeting i think will change nothing.

there is alot of people who attach themselves to the GB and surround the section, Im not saying every member is innocent but they are not 100% to blame, and especially on away days they are not to blame. i have sang these songs with the chants long before the GB were around

Something has to change though hasnt it? If not we are on a collision course that is not going to benefit the GB or the Club. Maybe nothing will happen after this meeting, but I think its great that Neil is prepared to discuss with them. I hope they take him up on it.

I would love too see the "up the ra" add ons gone, but im not sure they ever will, Celtic or the Gb cant be held responsible for every fan who chants it but.

I also think there should be a meeting with the club to outline what songs are ok and what are not for their section. But again they are not 100% of our support and cant be held accountable for songs sung at Aberdeen or Hearts etc...

I think if Celtic and the GB are working together on this and being positive, then the individuals will be easier to deal with.

I also dont think a list of songs could ever be issued as to whats okay and what isnt. All that will happen is fans will make up new songs and adapt what they want for them then and make any list obsolete pretty quick.

Yep any dialogue between the fans and club is good, as the great man once said "football without the fans is nothing." They have been doing it on the continent for ages.

Yes football chants will always be there and new ones will always come about, but im talking bout BOTOB and Celtic Symphony etc...

the club has come along way since the 70's and 80's where some of the behavior and songs were just mad.

Good to see that Lennon is arranging a meeting, think talking to the GB will be beneficial.

Well before my time - I am curious. What songs used to be around in the 70s and 80s but are no longer around now? And how have things changed in generally regarding crowd behavior and feelings towards contentious songs, etc?

And I agree 100%. It would be very positive to see communication between the GB and the club. Seems like the only way forward at the moment

I wouldn't even post some of the stuff sung at CP, I'd be jailed quicker than you can say up the Ra, and that's from the early 90s!

Thats one of the problems mate nobody has actually seen a list. So we dont know what songs they want to ban.

I think we should stop the ra songs, i think some of the fans on here are correct were the coppers have not got a leg to stand on regarding banning the songs & thats why there is no list.
