But it wouldn,t benefit most people, this is just grass is always greener syndrome. The north has much higher council tax rates, lower min wage, and benefits are a joke.

In my view Ireland would be a lot more economically stable if it was one island nation, * the UK its just a debt ridden basket case, run by warmongering elites...Who the * wants to be part of that.

Funny that, seeing your hero is a free stater west brit fascist that colluded in the execution of Republican soldiers. If you spouted your fascist * in the company of Celtic fans you'd be knocked out and rightly so....

    Strange thread!

Im a bit like Sween, i couldnt understand how Eoin could be described as a * on the basis of his first post. All he did was point out a couple of things regarding the Ira......nowhere did he state or clearly indicate that he supported fascism.

That he subsequently admitted he did however, does kind of contradict my last paragraph.......but i still dont know how people could outright accuse him based on that first post!
I think you guys got lucky!(the accusers)

Naming yourself Eoin O'Duffy is a pretty big clue you're not exactly the most liberal guy in town. Out of all the fascists to model yourself after, O'Duffy and Mussolini must be the worst. They were both * useless.

How many other clubs in Scotland and the UK have a small but significant section with a strong interest in Irish & Palestinian politics; the Scottish, Basque & Catalan independence movements; Communism; anarchism? With regards to domestic politics - the independence question aside - the support as a whole is probably quite similar to others in Scotland but that's about it. Our support shows an unusual level of political awareness. I know many Celtic fans are apolitical or disagree with the above and that some have a superficial knowledge but there's a significant number who are highly politicised. That's atypical of football clubs in Scotland and the UK.

How's life in the military treating you, Jorge? I'd have waited longer than three days before signing up. :smiley-laughing002:

I was thinking yesterday why a self confessed fascist was allowed on here but actually the more I think of it Eoin O'Duffy and Mussolini have a lot in common with the TC moderators. :fear:

I have told many Celtic fans my political beliefs (when asked), fortunately they are not narrow minded like you and actually have the decency to listen and debate, while very few agreed with my beliefs they listen and dare i say some understand why.

I have many left wing friends, i know their political allegiances and they know mine, we dont let it affect our life's. What the problem?

I don't think our fans are any more politically aware of unaware that any other collective in football. The difference is that a minority of celtic fans feel that their favourite football team is an appropriate place to promote their political viewpoint. If someone doesn't use football to punt politics, that doesn't make them less politically aware (I think you might argue the complete opposite actually), it just means they don't want to promote politics via a football team. So I guess a very small percentage of the total fan base who bring politics into the stadium is atypical of UK football fans who generally don't, but I think the vast majority who don't are probably very much in line with their working class counterparts across Scotland.
