I called it in another thread earlier today. They genuinely don't think they've done anything wrong or that there's a need to change. They still think their way is correct despite all the damage it's caused. And the pish about financial rules is particularly disingenuous. Had we only spent what we brought in from transfers and sell-on fees we could have got 4 quality, first 11 ready, players and been absolutely fine. Talking of investing in infrastructure and youth players when neither are fit for purpose and haven't been for some time. They've obviously learned nothing and their pig-headedness and arrogance has only got worse. This lot aren't going anywhere anytime soon and I suspect things are going to have to get a lot messier before they do. They are far more valuable to sevco than any player or manager that that shower will ever have. Desmond and Lawwell are probably in the same lodge as the hun hierarchy.

They've been getting away with it for 2 decades. Im really not surprised by the statement.

 

The part about financial rules would be fine had we taken little in transfers but we took over £30m.
And yeah sometimes you don't get your targets, but you should never be in a place where you have none of your targets for striker.

 

Gave up about half way through that nonsense. Just making excuses for their * poor running of the club and hoarding cash instead of improving the team.

* off. They've never cared about what we think. This is literally the first time they've ever spoken about anything. In fact, that's a lie. The only noise we've ever heard is when they double down on * ups... Just like this one. They never learn. There is no evidence of this.

What information is misleading or inaccurate? What are they addressing here?

They "must adhere to our self-sustaining model" to preserve the future of the club and also to comply with Uefa's financial regulations
Considering we have incredible cash reserves, I think we're fine! If we'd have given Rodgers players, we could've been £40m richer.

I understand that but the cash reserves have been built over years and years of not giving the manager the fullest backing to take us forward. This year's financial report will show incredible profits. Shame the current team doesn't reflect this success on the pitch.

Are we saying we went into the window thinking Iheanacho was what we wanted to end the window with leading the line?

Christ. Are we saying that this squad was what we would've been going into the Champions League with if we had qualified?

The "clear goal" is to make signings as early as possible but "many factors and challenges, many of which are outwith the club's control" can affect that
Are these challenges only Celtic FC challenges? Because we were the only club in world football needing one striker going into transfer deadline day and finished the window needing two! We sell players early in the window. Why can't other clubs do the same when it comes to us buying their players?

Considering we haven't changed strategy in my lifetime, I * doubt it. Where is Strachan's report? Under the carpet. Improve the execution? We've had several clubs and players mock our processes because we're incredibly unprofessional. We've * over Yang getting a love away because we are * *.

 

Also doesn't explain why they did absolutely nothing for about 5 weeks after Kuhn left. Nothing. 40 days out of a TW of 80odd days wasted.

 

Was interested to see if people on here garnered what I had from that statement - nothing.

The huns going bust was the best thing to ever happen to these arseholes. Gave them an excuse to cut back, gave them access to millions upon millions of guaranteed dosh from european competition, basically unchallenged and also lets them trot out pish about financial stability and how risky it is to spend what we have.
