It's exactly what you'd expect from them.

    The brass neck
    The contempt for the fans
    The entitlement
    The arrogance

That statement is an accelerant on the flames to the growing anger in the fanbase. The entire board need to go.

Interesting to know how many season ticket holders on here will NOT take up the Europa package.

    Hopefully 100% of them.

The more I think about it, even the timing of the statement is * as *.

Who puts out a statement at 9pm on a Saturday night? A statement they know will wind fans up, also knowing quite a few will be having a drink after a hard week and its only going to wind them up.

You just know that it's guaranteed now the Europa league email is dropping first thing Monday morning.

The thing with the boycott is that it is neither properly planned or organised. Similar to the season book waiting list there will be someone else who will pick up the tickets on general sale at a higher price and if there is empty seats the board will justify the rainy day fund. The perfect chance for a boycott and there was talk of it was the Newcastle friendly I chose not to go to that and be part of the boycott and couldn't believe the turnout when I put it on the tele although I appreciate there is far more appetite for it now.

Would organising such a boycott for a cup game be easier, do you think?

The timing of the statement is to avoid coverage in the Sunday morning print edition papers. Because those * dinosaurs are still living in the past they don't even realise how pointless that is these days.

    This.
Organised and coordinated protest across all fan groups is the only way.

We really need to stop talking about boycotts, it's like abstaining in a vote - the so called 'action' is to stay away and do nothing?
It's easy to do but absolutely useless against a cash rich club.

Iv not taken it up. I emailed them Monday night asking to be removed from HCTS and got an email back saying it was done.
Fully aware that I'm only one person and will make absolutely no difference to those * but I can't keep complaining about them while I continue to give them money.
My season ticket is already paid for the season but they won't get another penny from me this season

We need a complete overhaul in the boardroom. For the past fifty-odd years, most of these boards have brought the club nothing but shame and embarrassment!

If the cash reserves are irrelevant, then what the f**k do they intend to use them for? Tax and dividends?

Many fans will point to our bank balance and recent trophy haul as measurements of success. Still, we have been practically unchallenged in Scotland since 2012, embarrassing ourselves in Europe and hoarding cash when the stadium badly needs maintenance and upgrading.

Agree, if they want us to believe that there is now just excess money coming in to the club and the only thing we can do is hoard it, without ever being able to spend it, then they need to start reducing the ticket prices at least.

Why should they be benefiting from the excess cash? If we are at our limit, that limit goes both ways in how much they ask us to part with

:56: i mean obviously we have costs so nobody is expecting that amount to be spent, but £30m isn't out of reach.

Also, what are the supporters' associations feedback on the meeting and reaction to this statement?

It doesn't even make financial sense to have that much cash in the bank..

Its hard to fathom, unless there's going to be some sort of a takeover.

Its bound to be effecting our negotiations.

£100m in the bank... they can afford another couple mil etc.

BTW why would you want cash in the bank for a takeover?

I'm not an expert mate, but to maybe be more appealing to a perspective buyer.. the shareholders could demand more because we're cash rich.. or convert cash to shares.

Tbh just having it organised at all. At the moment folk have just taken themselves off the hcts sporadically and I totally appreciate the sentiment and I don't want to give them any more money either but I don't think it will have any material change at the club

    Exactly this.

Been thinking along these lines for a while. The pure hoarding of cash of late means that the balance sheet is extremely healthy. Which, in strict business logic, always is one of the most important aspects when preparing for a business to be put up for sale. It makes sense.

Not that I think Desmond is about to sell any time soon, mind.

If I were a cynic I'd say it's because It inflates the value of the club on the stock market, which means if someone wants to buy us out they need to offer more for each share, so those with big share holdings would make more out of it. But I am sure that has never crossed their minds...
