They've just poured a can of petrol on their own funeral pyre.

It's literally a great big F you to everyone outside of the boardroom. It screams this is what we do and have always done and no one can tell us to do any differently. Effectively they can carry on doing what they're doing forever more because they have those that love the club over a barrel. The club would literally need to collapse to get them out. No doubt there will be a few protests but in the coming weeks this will all fade as we, the fans, will be forced to get back to trying to salvage something out of this mess.

Is anyone surprised, the board are the same as they have always been and will not be moved. If DD wanted things to be run differently then the board would be different.
Its going to take serious action to make changes and while tickets are sold i dont see anything changing because the board know the fans love for the club will not let most people give up their seat.

Don’t even know where to start.

It’s * nonsense. Solely designed to gaslight Celtic supporters into accepting incompetence. Our wage bill is sitting comfortably around half of our revenue - that’s not even * close to UEFA's 70% spending cap. We could (quite literally) increase our spending by £20 million every year and still be compliant. And still they're hiding behind regulations that don't even * apply to us. Financially we’re one of the healthiest clubs in Europe ffs. This fake poverty pleading is all the more insulting when the huns are actually running close to the UEFA limits with far lower revenues, and yet they somehow they manage to get their business done.

It’s not even about spending necessarily - it’s the complete lack of strategy and preparation. They have no vision for this club.

The "volatile revenues" excuse is laughable for a club that gets the majority of its income directly from us as supporters, and from European football that they continuously gamble with. It’s a poorly written piece of AI generated fiction written to justify hoarding cash while selling and failing to replace, year after year. They're not constrained by UEFA. We’re constrained by their own incompetence.

    It’s a sign of panic.

The fact they conveniently ignore our own club captain coming out along with the manager asking for more, is hilarious.

They can't honestly believe that. They seem to negotiate fine and nice and quickly when it comes to selling players..but getting them in appears to be an issue.

Tbh even now, you could question their ability to sell players as well e.g. Maeda and Yang situations. Their incompetence is costing them money.

It does come across very slapdash. Almost as though they thought "*, we better get something out there to try and appease them".

    Clearly panicking.

That’s a joke of a statement and will come back to haunt them. Definitely shooting themselves in the foot, the * think they’re untouchable and that just isn’t the case

It literally comes down to this.

    no kyogo, no replacement.

idah allowed to leave, no replacement

shin cannot be considered as replacement for either.

There is no excuse. Literally none. They have made * of it, the statement is just fabrication.

The good news is the statement is SO bad that feet will get held to the fire now.

What a depressing statement. We're right, everyone else is wrong so off you pop. Just when you thought they couldn't get any more detestable.

    Hilarious statement.

Ultimately this is a good thing, one step closer to ridding these parasites for good.

The fact that there is barely a soul out there thinking that was a good statement says it all. It's unanimously slated.

It's also interesting in that their description of the process seems to imply that the board decide via committee what the 'agreed parameters' for buying a player are prior to enquiries being made.

If this is how we operate, it's no wonder we're wasting our time in negotiations. "Here's £2m, go buy Breum". "Here's £8m, go buy Dohlberg". Presumably, any amendments to the limit would require a further discussion with the board, adding another layer of complexity and delay to the process.

It also coheres well with what Rodgers says when he claims he doesn't know what the transfer budget is - there isn't one! He confirms players the scouts have identified, they get sent to a board meeting, and the board decide whether the player can come in and how much we're willing to pay for him. There is a per-player budget but the overall budget presumably remains a mystery.

Just another symptom of their insane, outdated, control-freak model of governance.
