What Celtic should do is appeal the leniency of his sentence. He should get a lot more jail time than he has been given.

That would depend on who knew what and when. This is what needs to be looked into.

Aye in your opinion, look at the post I quoted before starting the high horse *. Is asking our manager about all of this in any way relevant? Yes it is news but headline news 3 nights running I don’t think so.

I just can’t see the point in an investigation. They obviously believed him over the victims but that itself isn’t criminal, unforgivable yes, criminal no.

Unless you’re suggesting something more sinister?

    Correct.
Actually, come to think of it.
Maybe that's why Jock was treated the way he was at end of his time at Celtic.
That board have a lot to answer for.

The scum should get off their high horse.
They had 3 paedophiles on their books and it was Deadco they were working for NOT a Boys club that was a separate entity.
No * statement from them except to deny it

Celtic can't appeal his sentence, mate.

That's for the PPS, or whatever the equivalent is in Scotland.

What I’m getting at is though, we can’t appeal anything.

Even if we could we wouldn’t, one of the victims is attempting to bring Celtic to court for it and we don’t have the ability to make any further statement or pretty much do anything with potential legal action hanging over us.

All should be looked into, legally, independently and from the clubs themselves IMO.

That was the maximum sentence at the times of his crimes that’s why it was only 6 years, the law has changed since then but the judge has to give him the sentence linked to that period.

I thought there was an historical sexual abuse ongoing enquiry, launched by the Scottish Government. Maybe focusing on children who were in care tho.

It’s not high horse * fucksake.

The fact so many fans were wanting the club to comment, never mind the victims, means they were always going to ask him.

Especially with the club taking so long to release a statement.

Correct me if im wrong but is it maximum sentence for all his crimes or each separate one.
They should have given him 6 years for each separate abuse victim.

Although i do remember being on the jury at a paedophile case and found him guilty.
The magistrate sent him for sentencing because he could only get 3 years. He got 6 for 5 cases of abuse.

It is when you’re giving it the hun patter and the embarrassing comments, I’ll tell you what’s embarrassing the BBC asking our manager about child * abuse cases at a pre match press conference. Then leading with the same story 3 nights running as if * all else is happening on the planet, aye it’s news big news but anyone can see they are pushing an agenda.

I’m not sure mate I read it online about his sentence and why it was only 6 years, I will try and find where it was.

Potentially there could be, so the one sure fire way to find out is to have an investigation and find the answers, no matter how uncomfortable that may be. We have all heard various rumours JC, this thread has a few, so it's time to look into it properly I think.

The way I see it we can either openly state we want an investigation into this whole mess or we will get dragged into one anyway as, imo, i reckon it's a stick on there will be one. We have nothing to hide so why not be in first.

A vile, evil, disgusting * that torbett is and i hope he rots for the rest of his Life. As for the board at the time if they knew anything they should be held responsible.

One point sort of related, but the pleasure others take from this sort of vile news coming out is unbelievable. The fact there are people who read this story and get happy because they're able to tear into Celtic are just as vile.
