Do you have to be all of those or at least two? When it's put in to words like this I disagree with it, because how * dull would it be if everybody had a shared set of norms and values that nobody strayed from. Plus, you may agree with three of those and not the rest but still considered to not be Celtic minded. Also, knowing rebel songs, do you have to just know a few lyrics or actually understand what they mean because I bet there is many a Celtic fan that has * all idea exactly what it is the lyrics mean in a lot of the songs but still sing along.

As well as all of that it also means, that if you grew up in England or Scotland you'd have to go out of your way to educate yourself on a lot of matters that wouldn't be obvious to you. It was only about 2 years ago I actually took an interest in the Irish politics (and I still don't know a lot) because growing up in England I was pretty sheltered from all that kind of stuff.

I think the term is pretty divisive to be honest.

Think it means firstly you are a Celtic fan, then i think you would agree with the core values that the football club and surrounding community support, like helping the poor/less well off. Freedom of expression / free speech but at the same time being against bigotry/racism/homophobia.

So for me the more Celtic minded you are the closer those values are to you and vice versa, doesn't have to be all of them mind you could just be one aspect because not all Celtic fans love the club for the same reasons.

Coming from you ? Behave yourself :smiley-laughing002:

I come on here to express my views on Scottish Football and Celtic. I'm only thinking about what is best for Celtic in the long term when I post about other matters. People who say SpellCheck92 clearly don't know the person behind the persona.

Jorge is the personification of everything that isn't stereotypical of a Celtic fan.

The term is vague at best and insulting at worst. Not only to fellow fans but former players and managers of the club.

I agree. For me, being Celtic minded is how you personally view Celtic Football Club.

Not how you view Irish Politics, the Palestine state or the Royal Family.

Not when a vast majority of that said Football clubs supporters have these very leanings,it's bound to come through no matter what but it shouldn't be forced upon other fans who have differing views

The club, the people the history and it's values is why I believe I am celtic minded..

Politics is something I openly admit I'm not big on and in cases like Palestine etc that has been mentioned..
I accept that politics is involved with celtic and the support but that's not what I define about being celtic minded personally..

    Knowledge is Free.
A Celtic supporter which is proud of the creation of our institution against a socio-economic ethnic discrimination, appreciating the Irish culture/presence which isn't welcome in the country of creation, this being a reflection of the persons nature, experience, views history and current affairs. This being sympathetic to oppression worldwide and the current friendships with St Pauli, Barcelona and more.

I'm confused if you are agreeing or disagreeing with me..

Basically just because I don't frequent the SSFC thread or the History and Politics sub forum or voice my opinions on the Royal Family, doesn't make me any less of a Celtic-Minded person than anyone else.

That's because none of those things have anything to do with the actual Football club.

Not specifically no, but if you're "celtic minded" then you will at least have some working knowledge of the history of Celtic Football Club and understand that it's ethos and ideologies are/were that of more than just a football club.

Mr. Lawwell and Mr. Lennon may very well have the best interests of Celtic F.C at heart, but to condemn and demonize a sect of support (not to mention the MANY Celtic supporters who are in agreement with certain aspects of their causes) is tampering with their "celtic minded-ness" imo.

Celtic minded to me is being aware and proud of the clubs roots and history. As for politics ? Nah. It is all about the football and success on the pitch for me. Celtic are a football club after all. Not a political organisation.

You should be proud to be the most nominated as the least celtic minded then.

I think every Celtic fan is proud of the reasons of our creation as a football club.

The Irish flag should always fly at Celtic Park, I've always said that. Respect for our Irish roots does not have to manifest itself in the support of a particular group or ideology.

No they don't have, what I'm saying is when a vast part of the support has certain political views then it is bound to spill over, what I'm saying is it's not wrong having these views but they shouldn't be thrust upon supporters who have differing views,we are all Celtic fans at the end of the day no matter what

I agree and that comes as part of being a Celtic fan, but I really don't think (PERSONALLY) that makes you any less of a supporter if you chose not to get involved in that side of things.

For the record I am against the Royal Family and know my fair share or Rebel songs and certainly know what side I'm on when it comes to Irish politics.

I just don't feel like that makes me any more of a Celtic Minded fan than the bloke who just goes to every game, sings the songs and goes home and doesn't get involved with anything apart from the football.
