I think 3.5million for Commons is a decent price. Hes a fantastic player with loads of potential.

commons is a player with good ability, lots of pace and has a great strike on him. I would take him.

    Commons ignoring speculation

Midfielder remaining focused on new season at Pride Park

Kris Commons[IMG] has insisted he remains unaffected by the speculation linking him with a transfer away from Derby County.

The Rams have conceded that the talented midfielder is attracting interest from a number of clubs, and a summer move has been mooted.
However, on Wednesday the Championship outfit rejected suggestions that they had received a formal bid for his services.

SPL club Celtic continue to be rumoured suitors but Commons, who joined Derby from Nottingham Forest[IMG] last year, is focused on the new season at Pride Park.
He told the Derby Telegraph: "There are plenty of people telling me that this club or that club is after me, but it's just in the papers. It's got nothing to do with me.
"It just goes in one ear and out the other.

"I am concentrating on this pre-season and getting as fit as I can to be ready for the first game.
"Unless Derby pull me to one side and say they have accepted an offer for me, then I am here for the next two years - guaranteed.
"I ignore the speculation and get on with playing for Derby."

Spot on m8.:50: Pure speculation! No better that Maloney or McGeady anyway... I still think McCourt should be given a chance as well. We need player who can raise the standards of the squad. Think we need a ceative Central Midfielder rather than any more wingers. There was no link between Midfield and the strikers last year.

Celtic manager Tony Mowbray[IMG] has dismissed claims he has made a bid for Derby County midfielder Kris Commons.

Scotland international Commons has been linked with a £3.5million move to Parkhead following his impressive debut season at Pride Park.

Derby have confirmed there has been interest in the former Nottingham Forest ace, but say no firm offers have been received.

Commons is also ignoring the speculation about his future, with Mowbray playing down suggestions he wants to sign the 25-year-old.

"I saw that running ther other day and I'm not sure where that has come from," said Mowbray.

"He's not a player we have discussed.

"It's the power of TV. The whole world believes something if they see it running across their screens.

"If I was a supporter, I would probably have believed it also."
