He's not worth £3.5 million, he's not as good as McGeady or Maloney, and he's certainly not a replacement for Nakamura. As someone already said, you could find a similar class of player on the continent for 500k.

 

yep i reckon too mate, i know Mogga said he would not swing the axe but i have a feeling he might just do that. i reckon Maloney, willo and a few more fringe players will be gone soon. Commons might not be better than what we have but Mogga wants him so he must fit into his style of play

If this is true then we're spending one of our biggestest transfer kitties in years on two very average players imo.

Fortune ok, but chris Commons, another winger and a very average one at that, this just ennoys me. In a few weeks the board will be moaning about not having enough money to compete in the transfer market and here we are buying a player who imo would be a 5th choice winger. UNBELIEVABLE!!

yeah they admited to interest but no bid has been made say derby but i agree he is a good player and would be a positive addition

 

would rather see £3.5 spent on LB dont need a winger unless there's someone leaving which havent heard about plus would really like to see koki alot more this season.

To be honest he looks a good player and i wouldnt get too hung up on quoted prices as lets be honest they havent been the most reliable at guessing fees so if we are in for him and at the right price id welcome him but again dont listen to papaers quoting prices

What is everyone moaning about. We need a good winger especially after naka leaving. Mizuno and mccourt is just not good enough so commons would be a good signing to push for a start along with maloney and mcgeady, people need to stop wining im sure mogga knows what he is doing fs

 

£3.5M is a joke for someone who is (A) not worth that amount and (B) we don't really need. Like it or not this is a FORTUNE for us to spend on one player. We need to improve the parts of the team that need improving with this kind of money.

 

Ha, have a little think about it, he's an average 25 year old winger, imo its mcgeady, maloney, mizuno, mcCourt/Commons. Lets not forget that Mogga wanted to buy McCourt at West Brom but we got in there ahead of him.

Anyway 5th choice or 3rd choice winger it doesn't matter, we're spending a crazy amount of money (by our standards) on a position we're already best equipped, it just doesn't make any sense.

 

His performances last season in the Carling cup really impressed me, class player, just what we need too with Naka leaving.

Ok the guys not worth 3.5 million but we need a player like him at the club. He is a half decent player. At the minute we onlyhave mcgeady and maloney available to occupy the wings. If it were me i would definately try and find someone outside the premier/scottish league because fees are scandulus here.

I would still like to see commons at the club, id def pay 2 million for him, considering all the wee stupid deals for 100 to 500k the clubs made over the past year or 2 i would rather have someone i know could add something to the squad instead of rotting in the reserves.

 

Its simple, nakas gone, someone has to come in. Commons has experience of playing in the championship and could add something to the squad unlike mccourt/mcglynn/mizuno etc. If it were me all these players would be out the door in an instance
