[No Link] Celtic Interest in David Goodwillie

I don't think we are in for him tbh.

Not sure if I would want him at Celtic or not, he looks a decent player and can score goals in the SPL, but in saying that, we have two strikers that can already do that so is he any better than what we have.

I think Rangers will eventually get him tbh.

 

I dont think its as simple as no better than what we have. He is clearly a very good player. At a young age he seems to have matured last season, on the park, anyway. We need another striker and he will add to the squad. Price might be an issue, but at his age a £2m isnt outrageous.

The rape charge has been dropped, so in that sense he is innocent. Lets not stoop to no smoke without fire *. We have had that levelled at out club in the past and it stinks.

 

Especially since, as a concept, it is illogical in the extreme.

 

Great young talent and would be more than happy enough if we paid 2million for him.

 

Strong, quick, intelligent, good movement and a good finisher. Get him to paradise lenny because we can't afford this guy playing for the huns.

I have known for a while now that this case would be dropped, Goodwillie's attitude went from being down in the dumps to very happy again weeks ago so he knew himself what was happening obviously.

Wouldn't surprise me if Rangers up their bid now, I know we did ask to keep tabs on him and be kept up to date with his situation but I think we have probably moved our interest elsewhere now.

Really hope Mphela impresses on trial. And Hoffenheim should just do the honourable thing and pull out of the Musona deal as well.

Personally dont think he's better than Stokes or Hooper and would rather have taken a chance on John Sutton before he went to Hearts !! Big target man to hold the ball up front ..

 

I don't buy into this big target man theory to be honest, Daryll Murphy has hit that one on the head for me. I would far rather we had two pacy and gutsy forwards to do the business, and Goodwillie would be a great foil for Stokes in particular, as Hooper continues to look off the pace to me and cumbersome.

 

if Goodwillie joined to replace either murphy or samaras i wouldnt complain too much.....but i'd still go for a front pairing of hoops and stokes.....i wont even get into the offield issues surrounding goodwillie at the minute there has been nothing proved...and we all know how unreliable some silly wee lassies have been in the past.

I am sorry but I would not take the chance just to sign a footballer. This is the Club we love and we should not tarnish it by signing this man. I have also heard he is a complete c**t anyway, from people in the city who are also United fans.

Everyone deserves a second chance but not at Celtic FC, let the * go elsewhere or stay in Dundee. It would be a disaster, he cannot behave himself.
