    the fact you have Lazio from pot 3 makes it a dreadful draw. we have a realistic chance of 3rd if we get any of the bottom 4 from your list

    Definitely looks as bad as i've seen it.

    Sevilla are actually threatened with relegation in Spain this season, I mind I think Graham Hunter tipped them and Villarreal to be relegated this season in his season preview thing on the La Liga show. Must be skint.

    So Sevilla, Feyenoord and Benfica in Pot 1 are teams no better than us really, maybe Benfica still decent but not exactly Real Madrid.

    Pot 2 is quite strong, Leipzig look superb this season but some others Man Utd, Inter, Dortmund they're not great, Porto in there, Atletico seem decent this season also but again not a team you'd fear pumping you.

    Pot 3 looks dreadful, AC Milan then all teams only about our level even then Milan have lost Tonali who was a big player for them and they've not really improved.

    Sometimes you look and think you will need to be massively lucky to get a weaker Group but this year theres a good chance of their being like 3 weaker Groups if certain teams end up in with each other.

    Shows the possibility of some weaker Groups.

    Like imagine us in A or C there Feyenoord and Red Star or Sevilla, Porto and Shakhtar - we could get to the Last 16 in either of those Groups.

    Always need to be careful about pigeon-holing sides based on a cursory look at the weight of their name. All the teams are in this draw for a reason, that reason being that they either won their league, finished near the top of a big league or scrapped through qualifiers. Yes there are easier teams, but in this competition nothing can be taken for granted.

    For me it's more I'd rather teams on a similar level financially, so we don't have to constantly hear about the financial gulf etc after every thumping, which basically drowns out any real analysis

    Feyernoord and red star/ braga/Copenhagen/ Salzburg/shaktar/psv would mean two teams in our group with smaller wage bills than us, while I'm not saying that means we should expect to be better than these teams, but if we aren't at least I'll competing with these teams then it's clear we have not hit a glass ceiling
