Thought it was an improved performance. We wouldnt have been flattered with a 2-0 win. thought Mulgrew was good, Wanyama was good, Ki deserved a goal for his late shot, Hooper did well for about 70mins, Penalty decision was awful, although i thought big Dan had given one away earlier and he got away with it. Still undecided about Bangura, put himself about ok but his 1st touch is shocking. As for Samaras i would pay him the rest of his contract money and put him on a plane to anywhere. Seriously, you can debate all night on who Lenny should have put on, but my granny would have been a better alternative and she's been dead 40 years. Overall pleased with the team's energy and attitude.

From what I've seen we played quite well tonight.

Some mistakes - especially from Samaras who can't even make a simple pass and the ref who had a howler with that decision at the end!

And talking of the ref, expect to see a lot more of him, as I hear the SFA are about to make him their highest paid official...

OK lets say it was a very very weak one.
things tend to balance out and i thought big dan gave one away early on when he pushed that little guy over....we got out of jail there.

I can't complain tonight, I thought we played well and we had a young team put there. Bangura looks really good, a bit rough round the edges the same as wanyama but they look like good players. Matthews & Forest both looked good too. Mulgrew looked like a natural cb and he should be played there from now on.

Cheating Turkish * ! Penalty my * ! Played far better the night , dropped off in the second half. Wanyama, Bangura excellent. But Lenny why * Samaras ? His attempt at a first time through ball for Bangura was laughable, and his ball supposedly for Hoops on the edge of the box was shocking ! If Bangura keeps up his performances hopefully we won't see the lanky Greek too much anyway !

He set Hooper up both times, sure hooper wont the penalty but that was because the defender made a bad challenge, and hooper only had one shot at goal, his passing and touch were horrible and he did nothing in the second half, Bangura was our liveliest player for most of the game and was getting forward at every chance while hooper was huffing and puffing in midfield, yes bangura had some bad first touches but not nearly as many as hooper, Bangura was the better player of the 2 today, that being said sammy was worse than both of them

sammy's cutback for hooper was perfect. Hooper * up and overran the * thing.

That's what I though. When you see Hoopers arms up, he is static waiting for it, as Sammy makes the pass he moves forward. The pace on it was fantastic and only needed a foot on it to convert it....

I thought Banguras technique with the ball close to him is fantastic.
Especially when he evaded the two players who boxed him in.

I thought Celtic played fairly well tonight. We certainly played much better than we did in either game against Sion but I'm not going to get carried away by a good performance against what was effectively Udinese reserves.

For me, Udinese's penalty was a penalty. It was a stupid and naive 'challenge' by Gary Hooper. He put his hands up in the air as if to say to the referee 'I'm not doing anything. I'm getting out his way.' but at the same time he blocked the guy off with his upper body. So for me it was a penalty. It's a total * to concede a goal late on like that but it happens to us so often in Europe that I found it entirely predictable. We are still not street wise enough to defend a 1 goal lead in Europe.

Man of the Match - Victor Wanyama. Tackled like a bear and was everywhere tonight.

Plenty of good things for Lenny to take from the game tonight, just a pity we couldn't hold out and get the 3 points .........

two good performances against two good teams. the squad badly need the experience, they aren't going to become world beaters against st mirren etc, playing in europe can only help this young team.
