Because they are * scared of having to pay TV money back, we’ve already had chairmen from down there saying it would bankrupt them.

Uefa are idiots of they think any league can be completed within a month at such notice.

Edit: the deadline is basically for the leagues to tell uefa how they plan to restart not to have leagues finished by then

Next season is *, unless leagues are cut short to allow for an uninterrupted european football campaign then next season is going to be written off before it can even start.

Because there is no way the top 5 leagues can cut short their seasons due to tv money obligations and there is nk way uefa can cut short the cl season for pretty much the same reason.

In essence, that's what UEFA have been getting at, that they are leaving it up to the national FA's to figure out how they complete the seasons, but they do want them done in time for the start of next season (within reason).

Extending this current season indefinitely is just dumb, more so knowing it is then going to impact on next season.
Both season may very well be impacted, but the goal is to allow next season to begin as close to normal as possible, and that means closing out this season in some fashion, which UEFA have said they would want the games played, but are accepting that isn't going to be the case across the board.

Next season, should it need amended is a bridge to cross when next season comes around, not something we should be shifting in favour of completing this one.
Be dumb to give this season to (hypothetically) October, to then just cut next season short anyway. May as well deal with the issue NOW and sort this season out first, then worry about next season.

Well, any decision made for leagues at the level of ours would immediately impact how the following season would start.

Its impossible for leagues at the standing to Scotland or lower can finish the league in may/june then have practically no break and come back immediately for qualifiers.

Unfortunately next seaso must be considered when trying to work how this season can end.

Am I the only one to be silly and think that maybe we should take this as our close season, come back with a preseason warm up, finish the league and go straight into the European qualifiers with all our teams at full speed? We could extend the winter break to accommodate if the teams are flagging... just a thought...

That's minimum 9 possible 10 competitive matches added to the season. Preseason games allow you to o slowly back into it and many players won't tackle as hard or run themselves ragged. The past 2 seasons we have played 63 games, this would essentially take it to over 70.

Sports minister Joe Fitzpatrick has invited key figures within Scottish sport to discuss a phased return of events, BBC Scotland has learned.

Playing behind closed doors while coronavirus measures remain in place will be discussed on 5 May.

Fitzpatrick hopes to meet virtually with the Scottish FA, the SPFL, Scottish Rugby and Sportscotland.

First minister Nicola Sturgeon has said matches behind closed doors is not impossible but unlikely anytime soon.

The UK government has held talks with major sporting organisations in England with a view to a resumption of sport.

Professional football and rugby have been suspended since last month because of the virus pandemic while the Olympics has been postponed until summer 2021.

If people do wear masks in public please look at the correct way to remove a mask before using one. Hopefully everyone knows this already but no harm in sharing

Ligue 1 & 2 finished for the season and the bits I read looks like it could be a null and void situation.

SPFL open letter to all 42 member clubs,

In short - "Rangers are a bunch of * arseholes, of course we arent all perfect, we are running on 5 members of * staff you bawbags! But we have done everything to make sure you and your ungrateful * pair of pals are as best saved as possible. Now * present your evidence immediately, or * right off.
You are wasting our time, our resources, all 39 other clubs time and resources and we have much bigger * things to deal with than your * hurt *."

Moan the SPFL - you normally useless *, but we love you today! ha
