I think what most people mean when I see that is, when we are winning they are all Celtic Class but when we are not winning they are all pish and not fit to wear the jersey. Not my opinion mind you.

In my opinion this term no longer exists. We cant afford the big money transfers and more so cant bring in real quality that often.
Until this changes players like Kelvin Wilson and Adam Matthews will be among the best we can get. When we had great players and made it far in Europe that's when we had a bit of clout and could attract better players but this isn't the reality anymore. -
i think Celtic class is being consistent and being able to beat the huns someone who wants to play for the jersey week in week out whos committed and if they make a mistake which of course they are everyone is human , that they can pick themselves up again. we need a consistent starting 11 not chopping and changing to play the likes of rangers.

My thoughts of Celtic Class isn't about always winning, but see if I see a player give their all no matter the scoreline, that's good enough for me.
-
Put simply then, we are not and never will be a class outfit again.

Firstly, think a player has to be good in whatever position he plays in, gives 100% everytime he plays and shows that playing for Celtic actually means more than just a way of earning a wage, feel very few of this side come anywhere near being Celtic Class:47:

I know we cannot compete with the EPL or La Liga, but we should certainly be aiming higher than the likes of the English championship or the Swedish league. -

players that give 110% every single week, they dont have to be top drawer.

Players who respect and adore the Jersey they wear, appreciate what fans feel, and give 100% always.
Too many players think it is just a job. -

"celtic class" is a term used to say a player is not good enough. Its very amorphous and has been used to describe players under both successful and unsuccessful managers here.

I think every supporter of every club of every sport everywhere expect their players to give 110% every time that they take to the pitch. It's not like Celtic is the exception to the rule here. There will always be great players, good players & above average players etc. There will be players that have the potential to be top drawer, but if the commitment is not in evidence, then ability (or potential ability) loses it's veneer.
The truth of the matter is, apart from a short period of time around the turn of the millenium, Celtic has not been the place where players that want to achieve the very highest honours in football come to. The sale of Kenny Dalgleish in 1977 signalled that, once and for all. Despite this shift, expectation levels have never really changed.
There is an expectation that every youth player that breaks into the first team should be the next Paul McStay. The truth is Paul McStay was a once in a generation player. That expecation that big money signings will always be instant hits, but doesn't matter what club spends big, it is no certainty of success; Ibrahimovic to Barca, Veron to Man Utd etc, are evidence of this.
There is no certainty that every signing, big or small, will turn into a success. Talents like Lubo or Henrik are exceptions, not the standard. These are players that occupy exalted positions in terms of respect, not just amongst Celtic fans but across the entire football community. -
