Celtic bid £2million for Zurawski

    Gordon Strachan has made his first official move in the transfer market with a £2million bid for Maciej Zurawski of Wisla Krakow.

    The Polish striker is in top form and has already stated in the media he would love to move to the Scottish giants.

    And Wisla President Janusz Basalaj said earlier today: "We have just received an official offer from the Scottish club.

    "Celtic has presented their proposal and we have launched negotiations."

    Strachan has had Zurawski watched and is hopeful of getting the player on board quickly.

    But Celtic fans will be concerned that this might mean a move for Welshman Craig Bellamy is becoming more and more unlikely.

    Newcastle want at least £5million for the unsettled striker although Celtic aren't prepared to match that valuation.

    Meanwhile, defender Joos Valgaeran has signed for FC Brugge on a free after his contract expired.

    The Belgian will be returning to his homeland after Martin O'Neill brought him to Glasgow 5 years ago.

    Neil Lennon though is going nowhere after agreeing to sign a one year deal which will probably see the Northern Irishman into retirement.

      Tell me this story about Juninho. I only know that he had 7 and was rather poor. I cant find more about this anywhere. How old was he, from which country, when did he play for Celtic, why was he so poor. You know, I want to know everything. :84:

      He was brought in being hailed as a Brazilian world-cup winning superstar, but turned out to be quite the dud. Some people think he was too small for the SPL, or that he just didn't have his heart in it anymore. I believe he could've done a job for us (other Celtic fans: Remember his first OF game?) but never got a good run in the team. He was 30-1 during his stay.

      swoj chlop pozdrowienia z Elblaga,

      btw. Boruc soon will be better than Dudek in Feyenord and his first season in Liverpool, and Zuraw is the best polish player now, he really can shot with 20-25 metres, and he also dont play selfish, he see his friends from team and offen pass to them.

      Do not forget that "Magic" Żurawski comes from Poznań. He started his career in Warta Poznań. Later he became Lech Poznań player who still remember about him. We hope to see him in our club again when he will be 33-34, after his succes in Celtic (maybe winning a Champion League... and scottish league). Żuraw always will be in our hearts and we wish him all best in a new club.
