i dont prtend to know the ins and outs of dermots input to celtic but
surely he does not see it as a means of making money, otherwise he would
    have bought gold.
way back m.o.n. was quoted as saying dermot had put more into celtic
    than anyone with little return.
an interest free loan of £20m paid back over 5years with c.l. money doesnt
seem a lot to ask and would give us (hopefully)what we need.
maybe its not as easy as that but what do i know?

The OP has answered his own question.
    Q. Why doesn't DD invest?
    A. We are a PLC.

We are the same as Apple, BP, WH Smith etc etc. a company that is owned by shareholders.
If BP want to build a new oil rig they don't have their largest shareholder just stump up $1billion.
It has to come out of the profits the company makes and has been put aside or through manageable loans.

I don't agree with the little money thrown in but I would think it has something to do with a little lack of trust in the manager I think they will be waiting to see how things pan out. We are running business wise well and I don't see any money being put in until more trust is gained because if money is thrown in and Lenny fails it will be mowerby all over again. I think they are just being safe which begs the question why did they appoint him in the first place .

They will invest in the team...to a point. If you check out other posts some explain the rules about investment.

There is no way rangers debt can disappear but he could pay it off and that's up to him also if he has mental money to throw away then so be it nothing we can do

Debts don't disappear...they get paid off or moved...which effectively has the same result for the football club. Whether it remains elsewhere is another thing

There is no moving the debt unless they go bust then it gets wiped off they have to pay it they could negotiate terms over a period of time but they still pay regardless

the best way for D.D. to put money into the club would be through one of his companies in the guise of sponsorship. if eufa get the new rules in regarding spending in relationship to earning how many big sponsorship deals from the emirates will man city suddenly pull out the bag and the same with abramhovich with chelsea.

It would still be a related party transaction and would still require full disclosure in the financial statements, related parties aren't just the directors/shareholders, their family and any other companies they control are also related parties.

I couldn't trust half the fans to agree with each other and make a sane decision.

A quote from some Irish show?

To be fair, I'd trust us not to be liquidated. At least we would all get copies of our financies - and likely in laymen terms as well.

Nah its from a mad Irish soccer pundit :smiley-laughing002: I know we would probably argue a lot but I do think Celtic fans are collectively a lot more intelligent than most other sets of supporters with being fan owned we would be more of a club and a community then a business
