I have never rated him tbh. Too slow and too clumsy. Made to look decent because of the huns playing anti-football, a nothing player.

We need centre-backs like Mulgrew or Wanyama(but an actual defender) so we can attack. Not more Loovens, Dan types.

If we're going for ex hun defenders then Bougherra would be better.

Bougherra is a liability for any team. He thought he was playing with Cruffs total football or whatever it was where players could play any position.

 

Bougherra is a bigger hun than Cuellar. i would never want to see Bougherra in the hoops. as much as a hun as Amoruso was.

 

Carlos Cuellar is one of the best defenders to have graced the SPL in recent years.

Probably the main reason an average Rangers defended brilliantly to get to the UEFA CUP final in 2008.

Would be a tremendous signing.

 

Who cares if they used to play for Rangers? Are you so bitter and short-sighted that you wouldn't have a player who would enhance our side ten-fold just because he played for Rangers?

If any player gives 100% in the hoops that's good enough for me.

personally, i do not care if they've played for Rangers before. i care if they're a hun. tbh huns wouldn't want to sign for us in any case. i'm talking about Lafferty, Bougherra, Novo etc. i'm not talking talent. i'm talking about them as a human being.

A lot of people never take into consideration the style of team players are in.

Bougherra people saying was a bombscare, he was because the huns are a team with no pace and any of their defenders going forward look like numpties.

But if Wanyama or Mulgrew played with the huns theyd be labelled bombscares too.

Bougherra would suit our style of play more than Cuellar who'd get done for skill and pace too easy like Dan, McManus or Loovens. As he won't have the 6/7/8 back at all times covering his every move. He'll be left to get on with his own game and hes average at the very best.

 

Cuellar is a better defender than every player you mentioned.

 

Wouldnt say so myself, if he was so good then why with the huns playing defensive football then how come we conceded 7 less goals than the huns that season?

He is no better than them and has proven nothing.

He's that good hes played about 5 games at centreback at Villa in 3 years. He's a Championship or bottom end Spanish League defender much like Loovens, McManus or Majstorovic.
