Can we keep Keane

Discussion in 'Celtic Chat' started by Celtic for life, Feb 3, 2010.

He will never stay at Celtic

Cheeky wee 6 mionths loan at celtic, like Bellamy, say he has played for us etc...

he is too good for the SPL, could make big money in England and still be in the bright light of the EPL.

I think NOW, the lure of the EPL is bigger than the champions league prospect with celtic.

  1. He should stay with us assuming we finish at least 2nd and have CL football. Assuming Keane does well in the SPL, I don't see why he wouldn't want to stay and resurrect his club career by scoring plenty of goals and getting the chance to play at the top level in Europe. Just a thought, but players are not always that rational when it comes to understanding that I suppose. We'll have to wait and see.

  2. if we fail in winning the league.. no chance of him signing

if we win the league.. maybe, just dont expect any other signings unless others are punted for a fare amount

  3. I'll say upfront but this is only an opinion. I am sure that Robbie Keane will not stay beyond the end of the season (if he stays that long),, why would you stay in the SPL playing the likes of Killie Falkirk etc etc when you can play alongside some of the worlds greatest talents in EPL. Has anyone considered that there maybe a recall clause in the loan deal and we are being used to keep Mr Keane match sharp and fit. again i say that this is only an opinion

  4. nah spurs are covered with pav, defoe, crouch and gudjohnson so that wouldnt be an issue. he may well be going to a new club in the summer id say other than spurs. time will tell all.

  5. What happens Spurs get hit with injuries and are still going for Champions league spot,, Don't you think they would be looking for a little insurance and by that i mean recalling a striker that they paid 12 million for ??

  6. I know the majority of Tottenham fans don't really want him back and haven't forgiven him for walking out and joining Liverpool especially when Berbatov was certain to leave.

More importantly I dont think Redknapp wants him and his praising comments about his character is just mind games to prospective buyers.

If he does stay I can see it being in a deal with Celtic players going the other way - McGeady / Brown for example

  7. Why don't we wait and see how Keane does up here before thinking about if we can keep him!

  8. * Help Us

Not, if we finish 3rd or 4th in the league, & it pains me to say if Hibs win their game in hand we'd be 3rd to start with. :54:
And then who knows what other calamity awaits us.
As long as this fool Mowbray's in charge nothing will surprise me.
First he says, we're pish, is cause he has no good players in the team. Then the board buy him talent & even then he gets them to play pish !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reminds me of an old adage 'A bad craftsman blames his tools'.

Sorry, but Mowbray has bitten off more than he can chew here at Celtic & the results are there for all to see.:38:

And all the * I 'm getting from the Huns today at work about the Kilmarnock game has really got me down. Never felt this humiliated in my life before.

Don't know how to put this, but in simple terms - Mowbray GET THE FCK out of my club !!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry us supporters will clean up u'r * & make Celtic great again as we always do !!!!!!

PS: We actually paid WBA 2mill compensation for this piece of * !!!!

    Hail Hail:shamrock:

  9. I believe if Boruc was as good as he used to be, we may have been able to use him as part of a deal becuase Harry clearly doesn't like Gomez to much, sadly Boruc's form is gone.

I believe Keane would stay if things went well and we pushed the boat out money wise.

    Do I think it'll happen - no.

  10. lads any team in there right mind in the EPL wouldnt touch boruc with a bargepole and i wouldnt blame them.

  11. Would he want to? I wouldn't, if I were him.

  12. You wouldnt? He's got plenty cash already due to past clubs he's played for, I know I'd do anything to finish my career at a team I love.

  13. I think this is what might happen...spurs will look to sell him in the summer with potential offers from the likes of possibly celtic...birmingham/villa/sunderland/wolves/everton etc. probably depends on how his form goes up till then. im praying praying it wont take him long to score that first goal. please come sunday.

  14. hes not worth 65k a week anyway

  15. hope we can keep him mibi get a swap deal for boruc

  16. I'd rather not be a part of a team that's defined by mediocrity - even if it was my favorite team. In no way would I like to be part of such an average performing team - never. And cash wouldn't play into it at all - if I wanted cash, I would've stayed at Tottenham on the bench, collecting my weekly pay check and having not done * all. And he's also not finishing his career at the team he loves, he made this point very clear in his interview.

  17. Gomes is the best keeper in Europe - IMHO

  18. Would prefer a striker who wants to be here and based on last night, doesnt blast it straight at the keeper.

  19. You never know yer luck in a raffle!
