Its not harsh in the slightest he's rips it up domestically but is no more than a passenger in Europe apart from when has the odd assist.

    Haha :icon_mrgreen:

I'm not fishing mate. Its a really close call. WeekendOffender pointed out the strengths of both Griffiths and Guidetti earlier on in relation to this game. Griffiths' pace could be a nightmare for Vidic and Rannochia, which must be one of the slowest defensive partnerships in Europe. However, their presecence and strength could totally isolate Griffiths from the game.

Guidetti can put himself about and use his strength to cope with them. I just have a hunch that Guidetti will be more effective in Europe than Griffiths. Time will tell. I won't be disappointed if Griffiths starts because I have faith in the guy. The improvement he has shown this season is ridiculous.

The game against St Johnstone will show whether Armstrong or Stokes starts imo. Same with Griffiths and Guidetti.

I'd nearly give both Griffiths and Guidetti 45 minutes each on Saturday. Give them both an equal chance to stake a claim for the Inter game.

He's not going to start because he wants to , he has to earn his spot in the lone striker role and he hasn't , griffiths will start because he deserves it more and funnily enough because he wants it more as he has shown in his efforts at getting back into the team , thry have been exemplary and guidetti could learn from it too.

You're not wrong. Griffiths worked his * off to get his place in this team. I think Guidetti has learned from that though. He gave everything tonight.

So if guidetti outscores griff on Saturday by one goal say does that mean thats it all is forgotten in ye go into our biggest game of the season ahead of Griffiths.

Is Vidic fit and ready to play for them?

I noticed in the game against Napoli it was Juan Jesus starting. If he is the one going to be playing alongside Rannochia then I'd definitely start Guidetti. Juan is fast and good on the deck but weaker in the simpler parts of defending and I think Guidetti could pull onto him and 'rustle' him up(no *).

Griffiths has proven he's a big game player.

Done it in the Derbys for Hibs and done it in the semi final for us.

Wether he can do it in Europe, I don't know, but he deserves the chance as he has been our most consistent striker and is on form right now.

Also.. The Inter CBs aren't the best with the ball at their feet, with his pace and pressing he could force them into a mistake or 2.

i would have guidetti ahead of griffiths because i think guidetti is the better player , with the capabilities to do it against a big team .

It's not all about goals mate..

It would give both players a chance to stake their claim is all I said. Start with Guidetti and take him off for Griffiths with 25 mins left or vice versa wouldn't exactly be fair on the one left on the bench.

If neither player outperforms the other, Ronny has a decision on his hands. If Griffiths works his * off and scores two, then Guidetti comes on and looks lazy and does * all, it's a no brainer who starts v Inter.. And vice versa.

Right now guidetti doesnt have the capabilities to do it against Kilmarnock never mind Milan whiles he's not on form.

In a way I don't envy Ronny having to pick a team for this game,it would be head wrecking, but at the same time it's great having a bit of depth and multiple ways of approaching the game.

In the past our teams for games like these would almost pick themselves.

I'm not denying for one moment that Griffiths hasn't been in form for us, does that mean I think he will go out and score against Inter Milan the toughest opposition he has ever faced in his career? No.

Griffiths has came onto a game but people are suddenly acting as though he is the second coming.

Sometimes you have to think about what player would suit the ocassion and the opposition he is coming up against, I think Guidetti would be better against the Inter centre halfs personally.

Yeah but Guidettis been working very hard in training and was excellent tonight.. Would it be good for him if he's only given 20 minutes against St Johnstone after putting in arguably a motm performance?

Is it fair on Griffiths to give him less game time when he's not put a foot wrong since taking the strikers role?

    It's a toughy.. Just a suggestion.

No its not that means 1 good performance (2 maybe) in the last two months has earned guidetti a start , while 1 bad performance has deprived Griffiths of a game after being good since the new year.
