I disagree with that, he was still getting called Wee Shaun, still does to this day, it's just his stature. People were saying he was too old to win Young Player of the Year when he did, when he was about 24 (quite right too)

It's just a friendly name. We still say Wee Jinky, Wee Bertie or Wee Gordon Strachan...

Not sure if it's more of a Scottish thing but it's like a term of endearment.

Another excellent performance from this youngster last night. He was definitely the silver lining on a very grey cloud in my opinion.

All talk in recent years has been about Tony Watt, Liam Henderson and Dylan McGeough, and here this young lad has sort of crept up under the radar!

What a prospect, and at just 21 years of age I'm looking forward to seeing him progress this season.

Question (only one) on my mind is "how long is he under contract for."

At least Ronny sees this guy as good enough to make the step up from our youth setup to the first team.

Get Commons out the team and start playing this boy in his natural position, just off the strikers, time to drop the players that just don't cut it.

The thing is, in Scotland, Commons will cut it.

Dropping 30 goals would be suicide at this point.

I think we could manage to find defenders to replace Van Dijk and Forster, I wouldn't trust us to replace Commons and Stokes goals in the league.

I don't know if he'll make it at Celtic but one thing is for sure, he is 1 of very few that can hold his head high after this years qualifiers.

He's nowhere near the finished article but if we play him week in and week out it looks as if he will guarantee goals from midfield.

Have to agree 100% with this as things stand. The alternative is * suicidal. See how the season progresses - and at the moment, McGregor will be getting the regular game he needs anyway, which is all good. Just not at Commons' expense!

True mate, but I would like us to try, I think the league will be a given anyway. If we could bring in a decent striker or two that will produce the goals then losing Commons to someone who has the potential to be a great player for us would be worth it. Like I say all depending on if we can get someone up front that will get us goals.

Would be happy to see Commons pushed up front actually. Not like the alternatives are better.

    So would McGregor I think.

Still, dropping Commons at this point would be mental unless we were offered a lot of money for him, which won't happen.

McGregor is a ready-made replacement for him though, possibly next season I'd imagine will be his time to step up properly.

Commons as part of a front two with McGregor behind them.

That would mean Ronny abandoning his whole philosophy though and I don't see that happening.

He looked the best of a bad lot last night. His effort more than anything pleased me, I like to see our players giving 100% but the jury is still out whether he'll make the first team regularly.

Definitely the biggest positive during the qualifiers. Been really impressed with him, particularly scoring in both away games.

Ready made replacement for Commons, plus he's faster and doesn't seem to be as frustrating.

Needs to improve so many areas of his game, but it looks like he'll get the chance to do that. Over to him now.

Really impressed with him. He's like a mixture of James Forrest and Kris Commons.

Really impressed with him, he's an exciting prospect and has arguably been the only player to come out of both matches with little criticism.
