I like the fact that McGregor isn't really flashy, he just gets the job done. His passing is sound and his goalscoring very good for someone with his inexperience.

Normally all our youngsters who have silky skills and look great at youth level never amount to anything. McGeouch, George, Twardzik, Miller, Fotheringham (remember the "Fozzy flick"?) - there's been loads in recent years who looked like potential stars but either disappeared or don't look like they'll make it now.

It maybe sounds weird to say but I think it's encouraging that McGregor looks to do the simple and basic stuff right, he can do the fancy stuff later when/if he makes the grade fully.

Seems like Ronny really rates him. Think he'll flourish this season.

I'm a fan of the boy. If he keeps at it he will be a crackin footballer. Also seems to be level- headed

Also, for him Deila seems to be the right man in the dugout. Under Lenny it always seemed like going out on loan was the end of that player at Celtic.

Had some decent flashes in the first half once again. Expect him to start on Tuesday night.

One of the few that could step up to the first team IMO.

    I'm not picky.
Was the best I've seen of him when he played yesterday. Gave the ball away a couple of times bit too easily in the first few minutes or so, but apart from that he was really good. Done really well in his part for our goal as well and the pace he used was exceptional.

If he plays more like that then we'll definitely have a wee gem on our hands.

Nah. No way that'd possibly work. Imagine loaning out our young players when we could be carelessly wasting their abilities in our reserves. Madness. Signed: UlsterScot. :86:

Yip - either loan them or play them.

I'd be happier if our loanees went to other SPL clubs, without the rule of them not being able to play against us in the league.

We should send half our kids out to the Scottish championship, with nice little incentive bonuses for helping and preventing certain clubs from coming up..

Kris Commons won POTY mostly doing exactly that from attacking midfield. Many of his league performances left a lot to be desired in areas where he was strong in previous seasons, but he stepped up when we didn't have a predatory forward and chipped in with goals.

Performance wise, it's not enough for me either, but, of course, football is a results driven business, and wins are fuelled primarily by goals.

If a player can't give us a good performance, they should at least endeavour to do all they can to ensure the win, and that's what McGregor did on Tuesday. Thought he was good myself, but a bit quiet and maybe overawed by the occasion. Still, he showed great composure and presence of mind and got himself on the scoresheet. Says a lot about the lad, imo.

Totally agree. If they aren't going to get games here then I'd like to see them playing regularly elsewhere so we can judge them after a run of competitive games. Done wonders for McGregor.

Hoping he turns out a good one, got the goal, although I actually thought he was poor in the game, never stopped trying mind you, and took the pot-shot which worked out thankfully.

Martin d If you want to misquote me , please have the decency to send me a private post of your lies .

I have no problem querying the benefits of us loaning out players . I think over the last ten years or so we have loaned out approximately 100 players .
At the moment the loaning out seems to have benefited C Mc Gregor . Imagine 1% possible success rate and you think you have a point! or a brain .
I really hope this lad goes on to have a wonderful career at Celtic for about ten years and then we can speak about the benefit of loaning him out . Idiot d
