No way will McGeouch make it imo. McGregor, Twarzdik and Irvine this year. No rush for Henderson yet.

Hopefully they can get a good run of games, time will tell but I am excited to see how things pan out.

    Henderson and Macgregor in particular.

Are you basing that on his games under lenny?

Every single time McGeouch has played for us after his St Mirren goal, he's been poor imo. He just doesn't strike me as someone who will go on to be a Celtic first team regular. He's never shown as much potential as Liam Miller did, and has he really looked any better than Simon Lynch or Mark Fotheringham?

Yeah that master class by lenny spotting and converting him in to a right back ay? Was just as good hugging the wing.. Lets be clear here, he was absolutely wasted with lenny after he broke through..

I'd like to see the reactions on here if ronny was to stick Mcgregor left back after his goal the other night, what do you reckon?

Ronny spotted mcgeoughs position on face value and he was repaid after half time in linz, friendly or not, that's where we all knew and were crying out for Mcgeough to be played and given a chance.. Something he wasn't..

Random fact I just found out, he trained with Hoffenheim and Wolfsburg during pre season in 2012 then signed for Ross County:smiley-laughing002:

Fotheringham was a good talent and did well for himself at decent levels in Europe..

Whereas Simon lynch went Preston and then austalia.or.something, basically fuckall and.liam miller went places after us and didnothing at any,.my heart bleeds for him..

the only three that you've mentioned that have the possibility of making it here are henderson, mcgeouch and mcgregor. twardzik is too slow to play left back where we seem to want to play him. Irvine struggled on loan to killie and now seems to be behind henderson, mcgregor, and mcgeouch for a midfield spot. I think if we bring in someone who is even half decent to fill the wide midfield spots we won't be seeing much of mcgregor. Mcgregor is really lacking in both pace and trickery both of which are pretty important for a wide midfielder In the end I think all of the people you've mentioned aside from henderson will have to leave celtic to get significant amounts of first team football.

I don't see the logic in "No rush for Henderson". Aye we don't need to rush him, but at 18 years old, first team games will do nothing but help him. So we should give him as many oppertunities as we can.

I don't think McGregor is natually a wide midfielder though, Central or Attacking.

yea but in the central attacking slot hes competing with commons who i believe he is the poor man's version of, and from what i've seen of them at youth level and in the first team henderson is the much better center mid.

    I'm not picky.
Exactly, and like you say, though mate, time will tell. If he continues to show promise, and doesn't play bit parts for 5 mins here and there then who knows what can happen.

It's good we look to have young players making a break through into the first team.. There is no point dominating youth football if they don't get a chance in the first team..

McGregor made an impact in a competitive league playing for a mediocre team and now deserves his chance..

Henderson looks solid for his age and if your good enough age doesn't matter..

I'm excited about the youth and if Watt knuckles down he could be like a new singing..Hope he plays today..:shamrock:

Is it? Against rekjavik I wouldn't quite have said he was playing left wing. It's certainly not his natural position that's all I'm getting at.

I wouldn't say he was a winger either, he was on the left until griff went off and was put right as derk came on..

    Aye.

It was a 4-2-3-1 and I personally don't class the players either side of the CAM as proper out and out wingers who constantly hug the sideline. That's probably the football manager player in me coming out but:56:

I'd like to see him central for the most part, like Mcgeouch I think that's where you'l get the best out of him. He has decent pace but not enough to bomb down the line IMO.

He was useless on the left and i can barely remember him touching the ball.or coming inside to get involved, he did on the right quite a bit more though..
Football manager, my long lost love :icon_mrgreen:

Yeah i think we're all in agreement that the two mc's are better centrally :50:
