    When we played Leverkusen home and away I thought the young guy they have, can't remember his name, had incredible ability to find space and always be available for the ball. You watch Calmac recently and you can see that in him now more and more. He is the one for me who typifies Ange's mic'd up video quote 'we never stop moving'

    Another great game.

    Such a difference to the player he was last season. Not a thing went right for him last year and be was diving into everything to made amends, but he looks very composed now.

    The run with the ball from out our penalty box to keep possession while under pressure was exceptional. Most people would have panic punted that away.

    He’s the heart of this team, runs the game, sets the tempo, gets the team playing. He’s a world class 6 and will get better the more he plays there. Just goes to show you don’t need a 6 who wants to snap the opposition, that type is out of fashion now.

    The bit of play where he intercepted their attack in the penalty area, brought it out with 3 men chasing him and played it into Rogic was frightening.

    I wasn’t one of them but take yourself back 6 months. I honestly wouldn’t say it was that left field of an opinion at the time given the utter shambles that was last year. Next to no one came out of it with pass marks.


    But I am so very grateful he is here and leading us. The beating heart of our team.

    It was as stupid an opinion then as it is now. One bad year doesn’t invalidate the rest of his career, it was short term memories, and it wasn’t just him the full club was a shambles.
