  1. Hope he gets some significant game time in the league during the coming campaign, Deila seems like the right man to bring these youth players through properly.

  2. Some of Notts * fans saying that he should score plenty in our noddy league.
    Bunch of fuckwits.

  3. And you care what a notes county fan says why?

  4. Notts County. :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

  5. Theres something quite earily simmilar with him and messi tbh, Yes he will probs never be that sort of level as messi is a blue moon player. But the way he moves the ball a wee yard here and there, and always picking his place with his shots and his direct running is very similar to messi..
Hope ronny can get him working on his pace and making him a valuable asset for the squad.

  6. Looked brilliant in that video.

  7. There's no chance he's moving on. I rate him more highly than Henderson (who I rate highly anyway). He'll be a first team player this season, if not a starter.

  8. Can be our * version of James Rodriguez.

  9. I see where you're coming from as a lot of countries introduce players to the first team set up a lot earlier, but I would say it's harsh to judge a player and his potential by that age. Most players don't reach their peak until around 24-28 and as a young man still has plenty to learn about football as well as grow up as a person. Obviously the club thought so too and that's why he was out on loan which seems to have been the right thing to do.

Hopefully with Ronny now in charge we'll see our younger players given more of a chance but I still think we should've have been using these players in the league the last 2 years since we've had virtually no challenge, especially before and in between European games when the first team should have a rest and after we sealed the league towards the end of the season.

  10. that's a little unfair

but wouldn't it be good if we had a player or 2 at the level of James Rodriguez.......... sigh!!!!!!! :92:

  11. I expect to see a lot of this kid this year. He looks a cracking player.

A faster version of Commons :icon_mrgreen:

  12. I said before that he was the one I am most excited about. At an incredibly crucial stage in his career at 21, no longer can be classed as a 'kid'.

I'm sure he is a player Deila will love, versatile too can play out wide, attacking mid, centre mid. Literally anywhere across the midfield.

Repeating this point again, but, if we had a 21 year old English playmaker coming up from League 1 who had scored 13/14 goals from midfield and was their clubs best player for the majority of the season many would be alot more excited. Many in England were raving about him, surprised no-one has been in touch about potentially signing him.

He has kind of slipped under the radar with alot of fans, I'm sure at one point he was rated as the best product in the Academy even infront of Tony Watt who many fans see as the best prospect we have.

  13. I really like him, as someone said faster version of Commons. There were more talented players than him, but he worked hard and now he is on the brink of first team. Have high hopes for him.

  14. True. But by 28, the top players have 10 or so seasons under their belt where they have made their mistakes, worked on their weak areas and smoothed the rough edges of their game. The sooner they are playing competitive football the better.

To properly fulfill potential I feel a real prospect should be 80 odd competitive games in (regardless of level) by 21.

Look at James McCarthy, he has a genuine chance of playing with one of Europes top clubs by 27-28 because he was exposed to first team football at a young age and now at only 22 is a reliable first team player at Everton.

He has plenty of time to get there. Look at the first team exposure he has had at only a year older than McGregor.

  15. Am i the only one who doesn't rate this kid that highly..

I hope to eat humble pie but any time i watch him he flatters to deceive to the point i forget he's on the pitch.. I can't argue with that incredible knack of being in the right place at the right time to bang goals in but i don't see too much else (yet)..

I do think he could.be a useful player domestically but i also feel that we have better youngsters at the.club..

    Time will tell..

  16. No your not the only one. I thought he was one of our worst players the other night and would have subbed him instead of griffiths. I can't think of a single positive contribution he made aside from his goal. He seems to just make the most simple sideways or backwards pass whenever he gets the ball. However as you said he does seem to have a knack for getting himself into goalscoring positions.

  17. I was in awe at his goal compilation for last season he scored vsome absolute crackers

    Goals are everything!

  18. I was calling for that exact sub as well, at a time when griffiths had come on to a game and.had been roasting there left back on a few occasions..

Big hype over him at the minute and that's fine as he did make and take that vital goal all by himself but his all round play leaves a lot to be desired..
