samaras nicely gets by tokely (who falls flat on his face) then takes a shot on goal pretty much on line with the goal when fortune was it? is standing unmarked waiting for the pass. typical samaras, he does all the hard work then * up the easy part...

Maloney was outstanding today his best game in a Celtic shirt for as long as I can remember he was like a new signing. Must admit I think that had a lot to do with him playing through the middle..

Staying free of injury is the key here - there's no doubt the guy's a wee buzz bomb.
Really hope today has given him the confidence to kick on.
Post match interview - seemed really happy just to be in the team.

Thought he was great today(apart from nearly taking Paddys heid aff lol), if he can stay injury free he will do well this season. :50:

injury prone since he came back to us, yes , but there never has been any doubt about his ability as he has had quality in his locker for a number of years and many people forgot hat when he left for villa!!!!

people can say his injury levels are so bad we cant rely on him filling a slot in the 1st 11 but anyone who cannot see the talent the guy has is a footballing moron. Even 3 or 4 years ago he was a tremendous player and (although it may not seem that way because of constant injury) he is almost certainly a better wiser player now than he was 4 years ago when he picked up the POTY. As well as really good technique he has a great football brain and I think he showed that several times today.

I like Maloney always have, but he's just too injury prone, i think apart from that problem he's a good player :50:

If we keep playing him in the same role as today then I think he will do very well for us this year.

He has to keep it up for the whole season, though. But I think playing down the middle suits him - he never really convinced as a winger. Hopefully he can keep it up because there has been plenty to critcise him for since he came back.

some of his movement today was sublime and his passing was superb aswell he looked as if he was enjoying being in that free role once again hope the wee man stays fit cause if he does then he is a handfull for any team

His role in his POTY season (WGS's 1st season) was that he played sort of left of centre but he has never even then been about constantly running down the outside of the FB. He kind of was like Naka but on the left. In fact that season the Maloney-Lenny-Stan-Naka MF was our best in the last 7 seasons since Seville. In fact the balance between flair and grit made it one of the best in the last 15 years.

Thought big Sammy played well today and has all pre season. But i have a feeling this could be another Donati. play him until some team offers good cash then good bye. Not my favorite player but have got to say for being Greek i think he gets what playing for Celtic is all about.

all in all I think I'm happy. a win's a win. First half was shocking. Second half was great, don't think they had more than 1 shot on goal second half?
Not sure why we playd with 0 strikers and 4 wingers right enough but we done well to win a game with no strikers. Fortune could play out wide, as could samaras but there has to be a striker on the pitch, it should've been 5 nil, based on fortune's miss from a yard out and hitting the post /bar 3 times
Hopefully we can build on that though, get in a striker and get the defence sorted by next week

Same old comments, samaras etc, these strkers are not strikers, if they want to be wingers them let them be that but get them to * from being a striker which was proved today and in future games,if we had to count on them, well forget it,not big enough hearts, more like mice not LIONS, hope to *, we do get Bellars or someone of his standing, but today we should have humped them which is what we need to learn, maybe just unlucky, GK played a stormer.
