Im sitting on the fence when it comes to Caldwell.

If we want to analyze individual errors then we should also trace back every goal we concede to the root of the problem and it all boils down to players lacking composure , lack of retaining posession or making wrong choices when we have the ball.

Im not even sure if Strachan identifies players that he wants brought in.. The only time I've ever heard him refer to our transfer policy was during his first season and he said something like "I work with the players Im given , I knew the circumstances when I signed the contract and Im happy with that"..

As for JVOH.. Pretty much every header he made today went straight up in the air.. No direction on the ball and felt like we were playing with one of front in Mcdonald for most of the match..

I actually find Naka's endless misses and long-shots more frustrating than Caldwell's.
Maybe it's cause he has such a high expectation, but he used to be my fave, now he's disappointing.

No I played football at a totally * level :56:but I understand tactics and that its not always possible to play well oif the other team set up certain ways (i.e. many of the Old Firm games). Wasnt personal mate. More of an open letter statement of frustration. A bit grumpy yes. I would be very surprised if Gary is not the least responsible for our lost goals that can be attributed directly to a defender error this season. By the way I am not anti-Mick, I think he is a good old fashioned stopper. I just think Gary is of a broadly similar standard. Gary is a little more rash occasionally but he is a lot more mobile than Mick. If anything, our problem is we have 4 or 5 SPL but no better standard CBs. But thats down to the transfer market. If we can get better we should in January.

Why the * do people still blame Brown for that goal away to Shaktar???? He played the ball directly to McManus' feet and he could not A) control it or B) hoof it up the park. Take the blinkers off guys ffs, and see players for what they are instead of taking the easy option every time of blaming the fall guy.

Have very little patience left for him now. Only thing keeping me going with him is that he is not long back. Magic is starting to look a good option again and thats worrying, We need another good mobile striker.

do you not agree that our problem is we have 4 or 5 middling or unproven CBs of a similar standard and that is OK SPL standard at best.

you had better explain tactics to wgs then. according to donati, they don't come into it unless it's a big game

Big Bobo is head and shoulders above the rest and for some reason doesn't get a sniff.
No one will buy him and pay him 28G a week if he can't get into our team, so why not play him shop window style?

No im not that into the stats to be honest but I cant think of another goal this season that Gary really shipped single handedly. I just think he has never been forgiven for that nightmare v Benfica and has had his cards marked since with every error highlighted that bit more than other players get.

Exactly, I've never been so uncomfortable about our defence as I have been recently. The record goes on another week.

He passed it bak to his left side with a striker just yards from him. He has probably never passed to him in that position again especially so early in the game. I think the general consensus at the time Brown made a mistake?.

Not blaming Brown anyway goals hapen in football otherwise it'd be *. Usually only have a go at players if they aren't trying and i don't think we have had many guilty of that this season.

I cant deny that the recent reserve partnership of Bobo and Elvis looks better than the 1st team ones recently. THe Mick-JFK one was not working at all. Mind you i thought that Mick and Elvis were the best CB pairing in a while today despite the score.

He is a left sided player, and if a defender cannot lump a ball up the park with a player "yards from him" then he should not be on the park.

I cannot remember too many people blaming Brown tbh.

Ghord no and I dont want politics around football (so am not delighted about our new chairman).

As for JVOH, if doesnt improve very soon he will have to be dropped and even rep;aced. But I dont think a player like Gary who consistantly performs pretty well (and as well as his defensive colleagues) should be punted for one costly error. JFK shipped one last week. Mick shipped a couple in the CL and there have been plenty of others. I cant think of Gary alone costing us a goal this season other than todays.

It's fair to say we all see things differently when it comes to football.

The Boruc save today near the end of the game..
I've heard and seen the term "World class save" used quite a few times already as well as the commentaor declaring that too.. Surely the first thing a goalkepper has to do is get the ball out the danger zone and he didn't do that.. Had it been a Hearts player who reacted quicker than our "very poor defence that we are continually slating" then it would be Boruc's failure to push the ball away to safety that had cost us today...

Thats the fine line between hero and villain.

I felt Brown could have lumped it up the park why give it to someone else to do it?

All players make mstakes no one in the Celtic team is above that.
