Some rangers fans are really going out of their way to try and convince themselves he's just an evil wee man, heard someone talking about him having a temper and losing his nut on the touchline (as if no other manager has ever done that) and then went on to spout some pish like "imagine if he lost control like that out in the street at some kids, accident waiting to happen he's dangerous blahblahblah"

Absolutely ridiculous, as if someone losing the rag during a football match is going to randomly explode at people in the street for no reason.

Saying he deserves it is an excuse for bigoted scum . Does the Real Madrid manager get attacked and threatened. NO. Compared to him Lennon is an angel on the line

I asked some Manky Mob fans their opinion on this matter today and got the "Bring it on himself" line of attack. When I probed further about their unfounded hatred of Lennon they kept this up. When I suggested that the reason they hated Lennon whether they knew it or not was that he was a Catholic and a Northern Irish one at that and they had a deep rooted hatred of him for that and that alone. I got in return flat out denials that this was the reason however the looks on their faces said it all.

Tell me where the bullets, bombs and attacks were on Souness when he was manager at Mordor. He single handedly assaulted other players on the pitch and was one of the dirtiest players ever to have worn a Scotland jersey.

We may have disliked, some even hated, him, but it didn't mean we put his or his family's lives in danger.

    We're "all the same", b*******!!!

I see the new line been peddled by various media outlets that Martin O`Neill never recieved such treatment and " he is the same as Neil Lennon". Until these people stand up and take resposbility and stop this deny everything. There are no valid reasons, justification, excuse whatever these morons in the media and other areas of society continue to regurgitate that give anyone to behave towards any human being.

" You are in denial. If you are saying there isn`t a problem, then that is part of the problem"

Tbh the bile-spouters and hate-mongers are a pretty good argument for eugenics.

I was thinking about the spitting on the scarf incident earlier. No doubt there ARE some Huns out there who hate Neil Lennon for that reason but that's still no excuse for what he's being put through now.

El-Hadji Diouf actually spat on a Celtic supporter and he hasn't been sent any death threats, bullets or live bombs because of it. So that really nullifies that whole argument imo. The Huns can dress it up any way they want but they can never escape the truth, and the simple truth is this..............

Neil Lennon has done absolutely nothing to deserve the treatment he's getting.

I have experienced the exact same attitude from people at work and people I have overheard speaking about the recent events. This is total bigotry and nothing else, they don't like the fact that he doesn't do as hes told and shut up. This is much more than simply football related.

In that video, how can they be so sure the lip reading is accurate?

Not trying to deny that he said something like that, it wouldn't surprise me, but how do they know it's accurate.

Also, you don't see him spitting on the scarf?

I get the same from huns in my work. They don't say he deserves it, but basically that he's a * and should keep his * mouth shut. The guy has a job to do, and he is doing it well. To think of it, this animosity came into full swing after the "Dougie Dougie" scandal. It's no surprise to me that this bollocks has been tandem with CFC's fight against the SFA and Lennon's right to air his views.

Heres one I heard today "The best thing for Celtic would be for them to get shot of Neil lennon. He's an absolute embarassment to your club. He's just a disgrace. The things he does are out of order he can't keep his mouth shut. Listen the only people who don't realise that he's dragging celtic into the gutter are Celtic fans"

Job 22:29: For * abases the proud, but he saves the lowly.

Job 35:12:There they cry out, but he does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.

Proverbs 8:13:The fear of the LORD is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate.

Proverbs 11:2:When pride comes, then comes disgrace; but with the humble is wisdom.

Proverbs 16:18: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 29:23: A man's pride will bring him low, but he who is lowly in spirit will obtain honor.

    ----

I certainly think after last nights antics Lennon has acted in a very honourable fashion. Institutionalised sectarianism manifests in every corner of Scottish society.

However, it is still a valid question. MON was an Irish catholic who played for Northern Ireland and managed Celtic. Why was he never subject to anything like the hatred. My own theory is its a perfect storm of his background combined with his agressive image that is too much for some bigots. I think its the combo rather than one factor. It seems to me that fans even of non-bigoted teams like Hibs, United, Aberdeen etc have a strong dislike for him due to his persona. Regardless, it is silly to duck the question in terms of the treatment of MON compared to Lenny. Another possible alternative (or additional) factor is that this is partly due to the recession. Its well known that bigotry and racism flourished in the past during economic dips, including 1930s Scotland, * Germany, the KKK in America etc.

I have had people say this to me. None can explain why he brings it on himself other than "he has one of those faces".:31:

I've heard this said before but for me it's a load of balls.

Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn don't have aggressive personalities and yet they were sent bullets in the post. What we must do is look for the common thread between Neil Lennon, Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn. It won't take long to find it............

But what is that common thread if you take out aspects that they share with MON? I am not trying to be contrary. I asked the MON/Lenny question weeks ago on here because I genuinely would like suggestions as to what the difference is. What is it that Lenny/McCouty/McGinn have that MON doesnt that meant MON was treated so differently? I honestly dont know. There is more to it than Lenny/McCourt/McGinn being irish catholics from the north of Ireland because MON Is all that too PLUS unlike those three MON wiped the floor with Rangers and in theory should have been hated far more. This needs explained.

I don't know mate. Really I don't. I don't have all the answers and I certainly have not got a scoobie how these people's twisted minds work. Paul McBride and Trish Godman were dragged into this as well for no reason that I can see other than they are high profile Celtic fans.

All I do know is, the fiery personality line is a crock of * because neither McCourt or McGinn have fiery personalities but they received bullets through the post too. For me that takes the personality excuse out the equation.
