He told the truth of what was happening in the summer and the captain your username said it as well. It marked his card with the board. * the board. They are the lying rats and * any cúnt that deflects on their behalf.

I agree the board is far more culpable for the state we’re in. That’s without doubt.

It just leaves a very poor taste in the mouth when he guaranteed he’d be here for three full seasons and has done this a second time. I actually said yesterday afternoon I still thought he was the right man to win us the league, regardless of me not being a big fan of him as a person. He’s still a good manager even though he was admittedly a part of our issues this season.

Rodgers is already a multimillionaire who will continue to attract lucrative job offers whether in management or the media mate, so if he has resigned and waived his compensation then fair enough but it doesn’t make him a martyr. O’Neill at 73 and Maloney is a big downgrade in the meantime, at a crucial point in our season.

Without going into Lennon too much, Lennon should have left earlier in that season either by resigning or being sacked but we have to remember people in football who have been winners tend to back themselves (rightly or wrongly).

Given Rodgers’ history of telling lies (McGrain story for example), I’ll treat anything he ends up saying with caution. Waiving his compensation, aye fair enough if true I’ll hold my hands up as it’s money he was entitled to when he signed the contract. Willing to change my mind if credible evidence comes out to the contrary but him leaving for a second time and leaving the squad and club in a difficult situation doesn’t make me respect him any more. It makes me think he’s a *, as well as the board.

I’m not deflecting anything on anyone’s behalf. I am not in any way defending the board. You can be critical of Rodgers resigning despite spending two years saying this wouldn’t happen, and also be critical of the board.

Until he didn’t. Hibs in the cup when they were in good form and Young Boys are arguable the only two big games we’ve won in 2025.

Until he didn't. Like everything it doesn't last forever.

Point being you can't take a 3-month period over the course of a 4-and-a-half year combined stint and use it against him. Reason I'm saying 3 months is because I'm not having that last season was unsuccessful because we didn't beat Rangers a couple of times and lost the Scottish Cup final. Still secured a double so it goes down as another successful season.

Again, he was an absolute titan up here. One of the greatest managers we've ever had.

You’re calling him a liar. Where did he lie? He said he’s see out the 3 years is it? That doesn’t make him a liar. Things change and he’s gone that’s it. The real lying rat is still sitting on the board

I think it would be hard to be overly critical of Rodgers when we don't know the full facts as to what's been going on.

Rodgers is a proven liar. Remember the Danny McGrain story? Spending two years saying you’ll guarantee you’ll be here for three, then resigning now makes him a liar.

The board are * but this guy is a wee * as well.

Why would you walk now, mid disaster when you could have in August seeing the disaster unfold but only coming out with patter like "i'll work with what i've got", "we need bodies but i've not spoke to anyone yet im sure it will get done" etc

    * caused part of it himself, then thought he could sneak through any maybe still do ok only for his * to collapse.

Especially when the statement from Desmond makes no reference to actual football failings. It is far more focused on the board feeling under attack from Rodgers in comments he made and a general unprofessionalism.

I think most here argued Rodgers was actually too soft in the way he spoke about the board. I certainly wanted him to be more forthright.

And Ive seen nothing to suggest Rodgers is unprofessional nor that he doesnt care about Celtic.

I do think he made some shockingly bad football manager decisions in recent games but that isnt what this seems to be about

Oh ffs the Danny McGrain story. Rodgers tells tall tales like most managers. He told you the truth in the summer what was happening. He is well entitled to resign given the way the lying rat Lawwell and his cronies tried to * him over. He told you and the rest of us he wanted the club to be the best it can be and when he went public with it the response from the board was to say f you Brendan and * the club and * the fans, we’ll show all of you who’s boss again. He’s not the one who put his ego first in front of the club. He stood up to the lying rat and has paid for it with his job.

Lawwell and co. must not get away with it this time. Desmond is a billionaire with 31 percent of the shares, there’s not much can be done about him. If he wants to act like a man child he can afford to get away with it. Even if someone offered to buy him out he doesn’t have to sell. However this must be the end for Lawwell and his pals and their bullshit way of doing things.

I was furious and angry at Rodgers when he left in mid season last time but after what he has had to deal with not just since the summer but from the first summer he came back I can understand why he decided to leave yesterday and don't hold it against him.
