People need to stop raising the spectre of the bogeymen of Kennedy, Maloney and Strachan,
as some sort of perverted reason for not firing Rodgers now, that's not going to happen period.
At the very most, we would see a caretaker manager for a few weeks, until the new man is settled in.

We are in the midst of a full blown footballing crisis at Celtic. We have a demotivated manager involved in a mutually assured destructive vendetta with the Board, results in free fall, an ageing and incompatible squad, and fans in constant protest with the Club.

Keeping Rodgers on is non negotiable in a crisis situation. He has to go now.
Otherwise we are basically writing off the whole season imo.

Read elsewhere today that Lennon won 20 of his last 31 league games for us. Rodgers has won 20 of his last 32 leagues games.

Across the city, Clement had the exact same record as Rodgers. 20 wins in the last 32. And Michael Beale won 23 of his 30 league games.

    It should be sackable “form”.

We’ve pretty much bottled/stunk out every “big” game this calendar year. His record against the huns - under various sacked/interim managers - this time around is beyond a disgrace.

We’re headed towards another Covid season. It’s plain to see.

Some indulging in the fantasy that Hearts are going to crumble, the same way Aberdeen under Thelin did, not going to happen imo, under the experienced partnership of McInnes and Bloom, and the very likely significant transfer funds available to them in January. More likely we are going to go into complete freefall with an embittered Rodgers in a death spiral. Rodgers is only concerned with one thing now, his footballing self image, and its already been battered after the Kairat mugging. If we lose the lot this year, I suspect it won't bother Rodgers one iota, he'll just point the finger at the Board, and say they did it.

Finish 2nd this season we still compete in CL qualifying next season.
However finish 2nd next season we will start in EL 27/28 season as there only be 1 team in CL that season.

Guys becoming bit of a bullshitter says it’s no big deal only 9 games in forgets the wee detail that Celtic has dropped points in half the games we have played in the league so far

This sunday was always a big game, but it's taken on even more importance especially for Rodgers.

If we lose on Sunday the pressure will be unbearable.

I can't see it myself. Hearts took a 4000 away support to Killie last week.
It will be double that at Paisley.

They are not only playing for the club, they are playing to take the league title back East, for the first time, in a long long time.

If we do the pressure will ramp up but Rodgers will still carry on as if its no big deal.

I think it’s going to be an absolute slog between now and January but I’m still not convinced sacking him would be the answer.

I’m not sure what manager with decent pedigree would come here given the current state of our squad with us 8 points behind. It would be too much of a risk because they’d still be deemed a failure if we don’t win the league.

Can absolutely see why people are concerned at the moment because we haven’t seen a lot to suggest we can hit any sort of decent form, but at the end of the day Rodgers has won every title he’s been here for. You have to give him some leeway and rely on his experience to get us over the line.

My main concern is I don’t believe we have the players to play the style of football he is demanding and he’s been quite stubborn in sticking with it. It feels very similar to his first season back. I don’t really see any manager getting the current crop firing on all cylinders tbh though.

I think our best bet is sticking with him but we desperately need to recruit well in January. Otherwise are we going to go down the route of sacking every manager that finds themselves 2nd in the table at any stage of a season?
