    Are you for real? :56:

What part of that is a cheap and childish hun accusation? A media driven hun narrative has seeped into the psyche of a section of the Celtic support. That’s my opinion, it would take a certain level of warping to turn that into a hun accusation.

Us being poor and needing to be better is a separate issue that we as fans deal with ourselves. We don’t need Jane Lewis and her pals to intimate that the season is over because the Huns are rampant.

Rodgers pretty much spelled that point out by saying the story has already been written but we’ll make sure we write our own story not have it pre-written for us by external sources.

    Exactly that.

I’ve seen Rodgers get more stick amongst Celtic fans both on here and at Celtic Park than I have amongst the media generally. That’s why I don’t see it as some sort of media narrative, moreso just a reflection of the mood amongst the support currently.

If you literally quote someone and say “judging by these posts there’s a hun narrative seeping into our support”, then yes, I think that qualifies.

No idea what you’re even trying to suggest by the bolded. If you have an example from the interview of something she said that you think was out of line, then go for it - I’m genuinely asking you to let me know what you feel it is - otherwise it’s a boring as * conversation, frankly.

I think you need to take a couple deep breaths mate, you’re that engrained in coming on here and arguing with people daily in the politics section you’ve grown a misplaced victim complex.

I didn’t call you a hun nor did I suggest you were one, for the avoidance of doubt. My point is there’s a media driven hun narrative currently in Scotland and if you can’t see that, as you’ve suggested, you are blind.

Don't think anyone is throwing a Hun tag at you mate.. its more that there's definitely a Hun narrative..

I've no issue with Rodgers calling out, he's trying to create a siege mentality, but like I said before our performances are doing that in any case.

I pay no attention to what the media are saying, so no it's not seeping in. We have been rotten and the huns have barely dropped a point in months. Nothing deeper than that.

Rodgers has commented a number of times in post-match interviews and press conferences on how poor we've been - lacking intensity and pace etc. So he's fully aware of our constant underperforming.

The point is that suggesting it's "seeping into" a portion of the Celtic support (and he flagged our two posts to 'prove' that) is a bit of a riddy.

We watch every game and can make our own informed views of our current form. We don't base our opinions off what the media is saying. It's glaringly obvious that we're pish and scraping through games at the moment, meanwhile the huns (who aren't brilliant) are consistently picking up wins - and often convincingly.

Is the league over though and have the players chucked it? Because that’s the impression anyone would get reading and listening to the SMSM.

The game at the weekend would suggest otherwise.

If you genuinely don’t believe there’s a narrative in the Scottish media that rangers are currently rampant and marching towards the Title sweeping aside all comers and Celtic are in the doldrums you (and KOK) are 2 of the only Celtic fans I’ve read/listened to with that opinion. Of literally hundreds…

The fact Rodgers even has to suggest it to the media themselves tells you what’s going on.

From probably the most argumentative poster on here as well :giggle1::giggle1:

You said there was that judging from my post there was a media driven hun narrative that had seeped into our support. It really is that simple, and there in black and white.

Back doon or double doon - couldn’t really care. It’s painfully boring discussing this with you.

Much like yourself, can’t remember the last time I read anything from the Scottish press. Pretty much all of my media in relation to the club is here, social media, and Reddit.

Funnily enough, here is actually the most anti-Rodgers places, with more negative sentiment than the other two :giggle1:

    True.

I would imagine doing so on a daily basis would indeed be tedious.

That's great. Let them build whatever narrative they want.

The fact remains that it's not the media stoking the anger amongst Celtic fans. The majority of us are already * off and scunnered with the club - not because we believe the huns are all conquering because the media say it - but because we're watching us play every week and being thoroughly depressed by our stinking football. By our lack of ambition in the transfer market, and so on.

I'm not denying there's a narrative - I already told you I don't pay attention to the media. But they've not created any sort of myth that Celtic are * and Rangers are on the charge - it's literally what's happening.

You literally did deny there was a narrative, that’s my entire point :56:

They are 2 point ahead of us with 12 games to go, 2 of which against each other. They are certainly not marching to anything without us having a say in it.

I don't see a narrative that's been created out of thin air. Are the media overegging the pudding a bit? I wouldn't be surprised. But one team is currently picking up wins every week, sometimes without much fuss, and have clawed back a sizeable gap in the table. And the other is struggling consistently, and has chucked away that sizeable gap.

If both teams were playing well and winning convincingly, then aye it's a made up hun narrative. But that's not the case at all.

Why anyone pays attention to the media, never mind gets wound up about it, is beyond me.

I always feel there is a hun undercurrent within the Media, but it is also true that we've had a poor season, results and performances have not been great, supporters are rightly not happy, but there is a balance between criticism and backing the team and manager.

We're still in it and could even end up with a domestic double, but there has to be improvement no question.
