Brendan Fraudgers!

Discussion in 'World Football' started by Mr. Slippyfist, May 20, 2016.

  1. The Daily Hun trolling us over McKenna..

  2. 3 man shortlist. We signed 1 out of 3.

Don’t be surprised when the window closes and we’ve no signed anybody else to compensate for the phantom 2.

We couldn’t get the right quality, probably.

  3. Don't do it Brendan, please..

  4. Like you I'm not too bothered about signing McKenna. The manager is adamant that we get him signed before next weeks transfer window closing.

  5. This * a belter. :56:

  6. Gyp - go over to the thread Oleksandr Zinchenko under Transfer rumours before spouting ur nonsense about the above.

  7. * off eh, I’m busy trying to get an extension lead long enough from the hall to my bath.

  8. My main worry is that he has confirmed our interest, is it just me who wished he had said on first reports of McKenna 'McKenna? What from Aberdeen? *snigger snigger* * no, behave yourselves.'

  9. Brendan Rodgers says Celtic still need three or four new signings

Brendan Rodgers suggested yesterday that failure to sign the three or four quality additions he has sought all summer is in danger of blunting Celtic’s edge. The Irishman cut a weary
figure as he responded to questions over an exasperating transfer window. One that, with a week remaining, has brought only the arrival of 19-year-old Manchester City midfielder Daniel Arzani on loan and the completion of a deal to sign striker Odsonne Edouard. He said that two of his three top targets had now “gone” – believed to be a reference to John McGinn, who opted to join Aston Villa, and Italian defender Cristiano Piccini – and that reinforcements need to be added before the window shuts on Friday. The one top target Rodgers was able to land came in the form of a £9 million permanent deal for Edouard, who was on loan at the club last season.

At the club’s pre-season training camp in Austria a month ago Rodgers stated the need for replacements for Patrick Roberts, Stuart Armstrong as well as further “quality” signings. It was put to him yesterday whether that meant he still “needed three or four” new faces. “Absolutely. There’s no change. I’ve been pretty clear, since the end of last season, what we need,” he said, offering a “let’s wait and see” when asked if he was optimistic about bolstering his squad before 31 August.

“So this year wasn’t a huge overhaul,” he added. “It was about simplicity in one thing, which is quality. There is a lot of talk around all the transfers. But it’s always been very clear what we needed. You need to replace what you lose in order to keep that strength – and that competition. “I think what people may or may not know is, when you are working day to day and challenging the squad all the time, it’s about competition. It’s no coincidence that James Forrest was very good with Patrick Roberts breathing down his neck. And vice-versa. The midfield players knew, if they weren’t quite doing it, they had someone who could come in, come on and do well.

  11. Actions speak louder than words Brendan.

    * sick of hearing about “what this window was about” and what was wanted etc. Why the * hasn’t it happened then?

  12. A centre half was always needed, Boyata could of signed a 10 year deal and we'd still of needed one minimum.

He came into this season planning to use the 3-4-1-2, must of been abundantly obvious in training that Hendry wasn't the answer as the 3rd and it was clear Jozo wasn't either.

  16. Absolutely vile mate.

Though I'm not going to re-write history and pretend I was all for McGinn, if we had signed the above 3 plus Eduouard I'd have regarded that as an excellent window.

    Should have been done.

We'd be 40m richer as a result and looking to build going forward.

It's inexcusable. This is * hour.
