Brendan Rodgers following #HEACEL: "I thought the win was outstanding. I sit a little bit embarrassed because of the pitch. I felt really sorry for both sets of players. You seen it early on the ball gets thrown out and it sticks in the grass because it was that long."

BR: "First time in my life I told a team of mine that to build the game from behind is a huge risk. At half-time we said we have to play a more direct game. From there, we dominated the game second half."

BR on Sir Alex Ferguson: "It was a big shock to us all yesterday. He’s a real colossal manager and a real inspiration to all us young managers. We really hope and pray he makes a really good recovery.

BR on @Oedouard22: "It looked like a hamstring so we’ll just have to assess that tonight or tomorrow. It would be an absolute shame if he was ruled out. He’s been brilliant for us."

BR on Charly Musonda: "He got injured on his shoulder whilst the squad was away so we’ve sent him back to Chelsea to get treatment. Similar to what we did with Pat when he got injured."

BR: "If I don't think this will be for him then Chelsea and I will speak about that, along with Charly. It’s just been unfortunate the team has been playing very well so we'll speak with him at the end of the season and take it from there."

He floods body's forward all the time wich is why we are so good on the attack but can be vulnerable defensively sometimes just look at liverpool and madrid too even man city can be shaky at the back at times.

This apears like the spoilt child who blames you for any problems in life returning to try to make you pay ,even though you sheilded and carried him through the bad .

Brendan Rodgers would have Scotland and Ireland making World and European cups playing good football, that's how good he is.

Yes he like all human beings is imperfect, he is not as good on the defensive side of the game and for what ever reason (likely as he was the Celtic man in place at time of arrival who knew the ropes but no threat) we have had John Kennedy learning on the job as one of the main if not the defensive coach.

Overall we can be Very Pleased and thankfull Brendan plays and thinks the Celtic way, they score one we score two.

BR on @Oedouard22: "He’ll struggle for next weekend. It’s been unfortunate really for him. He’s got better and better as the season has gone on. He’s probably going to struggle between now and the end of season."

BR: "He’s adapted very well, you see his qualities. It’s a shame for him if he has to miss out, he’s been a very important member of our squad. Nothing we can do."

BR on @Leighgriff09: "Leigh will be rejoining a training group tomorrow. He wasn’t well last week. He won’t be available tomorrow but should be fine by the weekend."

BR on Craig Levein's comments: "I was bleating! There’s no right or wrong, it was my opinion. I always respect we are in a business to entertain and we want to give the supporters the very best product on the pitch.

BR on Steve Clarke: "He’s come in and got them very well organised and playing a certain style that works to their strengths. They’ll be disappointed from the split that they’ve lost their three games."

BR: “They were compact and tight and if you make the breakthrough in these games it gives you a better opportunity, but we didn’t quite do that. It was a typical 0-0."

BR: “There was no doubt if I had all my strikers available and fit, I would have played a different system, thinking of how you play against that low block. But it was too big a risk."

BR: "@MDembele_10 ’s my only fit striker at the moment and he’s coming back from injury. He played great at the weekend, but we just didn’t want to risk him for this midweek game, and he’ll obviously feature again at the weekend."

BR: "Tonight was about giving the guys who have been on the sides an opportunity, the likes of Stuart Armstrong, @patrick7roberts, @SimunovicJozo – guys here who haven’t had a lot of game-time."

BR: "The likes of young @calvin_miller7 came in and got more game-time and experience, and young Ewan Henderson also came in, who is a talent. There were real positives from that aspect, guys getting onto the pitch who are giving me everything every day."

BR: “You're always hoping you can make the breakthrough. We'd a couple of chances & the goal disallowed which looked offside & Jack Hendry went close with a header, & we just couldn’t make the final pass.
