Didn't know he was from Antrim :52:
Great to see what it means to them though.

My dad is from Antrim, therefore I fully expect a season ticket, and a Job working beside Brendan. Don't think that's too much to ask.

Gonna head down on Monday, really hope he gets a massive reception and he and the board see just how much this little bit of ambition means to us fans and i wish for many good seasons under him.

Agree with Chris Sutton, Rodgers is getting a bye when it comes to the CL this season, can't expect too much too soon. Like any new manager I won't be judging his team till at least a season unless it's extreme either way before that.

Whilst I can see where that argument comes from it's not the right mental approach for the Club or the fans to take to the Qualifiers.

We've pushed the boat out for the Manager, by all accounts we'll back him in the transfer market. We have every right to expect Champions League qualification.

This isn't the same as the situation Deila found himself in for Legia, thrown in at the deep end with a half arsed loan deal from Cardiff.

No chance, Ronny was never afforded such luxury by Sutton so why should a better and more expensive manager?

He'll get greater resources than Ronny, has managed better and tougher therefore SHOULD be able to negotiate these ties easily enough.

I expect him to, at the very least, get us through to the Play-Off.

The first qualifier we'll have is the 2nd round where we've faced Cliftonville, Reykjavik and Stjarnan. That shouldn't be any problem at all for Brendan and the Bhoys.
The quality of teams we've faced in that 3nd round qualifier in recent years (Helsinki, Elfsborg, Legia and Qarabag) suggest we should be able to win those matches, too.

By the time the Play-Off rolls around Rodgers will have had a month or so on the training pitch and will have maybe added a few players. Teams we've faced previously are Helsingborgs, Karagandy, Maribor and Malmo.

He'll be cut a bit of slack early on, but I'd still expect him to win those matches.

I think I might just be very wary after the last couple of years but it is true Ronny was very close to qualifying. Ronny did arrive when we were a CL team though even if it wasn't our best season in it so maybe that is why he was expected to qualify.

This team hasn't got the same experience and I just don't want to judge Rodgers that quickly even though I'll be disappointed if we don't qualify. I don't mean to be too negative but it's trying to find a balance as I don't want to be too expectant either.
