26 times for one foul....thats mad.
clear as day someone is trying to highlight our big fouls to raise awareness of them and raise pressure on future referee's in our games to red card our players.

Also important to note from that same interview that wasn't posted earlier. He speaks about Rogic's incident late vs Alloa where he's fouled but goes down far too easy.

    --

But I just think the referee was very good so let’s give praise and not highlight something like that. It’s unfair on the referee. The game will now be passed off as “he (Gordon) should have been sent off”. But Alan’s performance was spot-on. He made a brilliant call when an Alloa player made a foul, he let play go on and then came back to give the yellow card.

‘And he also gave a card to Tom Rogic (for simulation) which was spot-on.’

    --

Whether you agree that he dove or not, it's good to see Rodgers exeunt transparency in situations like this, rather than say his team are the end all be all, and are equal to any and all opposition and deserve every favourable decision, like our crosstown rivals.

BRENDAN RODGERS wants to know the reasons for BT Sport’s apparent “trial by TV” policy when it comes to Celtic.

The Hoops boss feels the broadcaster has gone OTT in the last week, analysing incidents involving Erik Sviatchenko and Craig Gordon while underplaying incidents in other games.

Both Celts were guilty of controversial tackles in live TV games against Inverness and Alloa, and were booked for what were considered borderline red card offences.

Referring to Gordon’s clash with Greig Spence in the Betfred Cup clash with Alloa, Rodgers said: “There are two players behind the ball – it’s a yellow card. The referee called it absolutely perfect.

“What doesn’t help is afterwards when the video footage is shown 14 times.

We played at Inverness and Sviatchenko’s tackle was shown 26 times. I saw games with similar profile over the course of the last week, where a player arguably should have been sent off, and the video was shown twice.”

On seeking answers from the broadcaster, Rodgers said: “It would be interesting, just to see why there is that difference.

“It’s modern day football and news has to be covered, but I just think as a whole let’s not complicate it.

“The referee was very good, so let’s give him praise and not highlight something like that. Craig’s incident is just a mis-timed tackle. He’s not reckless, he over-stretched. The kid takes a bang, goes down, gets up and gets on with the game.”

The Celtic boss, meanwhile, has insisted he does not have a clear No 1 keeper as the debate rages over the selection of Dorus De Vries or Gordon.
Dutchman De Vries is considered more comfortable with the ball at his feet while Gordon is acknowledged as a fine shotstopper.

Rodgers said: “When Craig was in the team I was asked if he was the right one. Now he’s not in the team I’m being asked questions why he is not No 1. A goalkeeper, first and foremost, needs to be able to make saves. When you play for a team like Celtic, eight out of 10 games is about concentration.

“The second point is can they participate in the game? When you have the ball you have 11 footballers.

“If you go back over the videos with Dorus at Swansea, it allowed us to maintain the ball. The more build-up from behind, the more you get into the final third. The quicker the ball goes forward, the quicker it comes back at you. So if you can build well from behind that makes it better.”

I have read all the news articles bar the DR and can find no mention of Forrester. Maybe the DR stuck it in their story because they want to create a bit of controversy

Simple way to make it seem balanced.
Over play and show out "honest mistakes" in our "favour" (both correctly booked by the way) and down play as many of theirs. So when the time comes, we have better memory of ours (say we have 10 and remember 8) and less memory of theirs (say they have 30 but we only remember....8) making it all seem even.

Bit excessive though, 26 * times to reiterate a point.

I really like what BR is doing and the way he handles Press. Didn't see the Forrester one but can see his point re number of views on each of the 3. Excellent point. However to call Craig's a mistimed tackle???? Well if that's an indication of Craig's timing then he's no chance of claiming No1 spot. Forget scoring opportunity. He took Spence mid body and to do that his foot/boot was raised well off the ground, so for that alone it's a red....unless there's a new rule that if you tackle front on with a raised boot and connect below knee it's a red but if you tackle a player waist high it's a yellow.

Deila boasted how he'd have us playing attacking football. In the end, he couldn't even do that. Rodgers has got us actually playing well up front. Defense is still criminal though. BR needs to get injected with a dose of pragmatism.
