Over v$500,000 in prizes!!!
Welcome to Battle of the Bands IV
So, we are fast approaching the end of BotBIII, and therefore time to start putting the thinking caps on for our next season.
The theme of this season will be all about...
GET YA GRRRLLLLS OUT!!!
So we have had 3 full seasons of BotB so far, and remarkable as it has been, we have actually had as many seasons as there have been women featured in this competition in total!
At the risk of sounding all PC, time to rectify this. Time to inject some estrogen into this sausage fest. And why not, when there are loads of talented women out there, whose deserve recognition and a chance for the spotlight.
Here is a chance to celebrate some of those talents!
So, for this contest you may select a solo female recording artist OR a band that includes at least 1 permanent female member.
There are a few rules for this contest though...
So to clarify, a band that has a female vocalist is just as suitable as is one in which there is a female guitarist, bass player etc. For example, The Rebel Spell is eligible, as WretchedErinn is/was the guitarist of that band.
- Bands are eligible so long as they include at least 1 woman in their fixed line up. The don't necessarily have to be the vocalist, so long as they are part of the band, and not just a guest.
- Ideally it would be preferred to not have to rely on previously featured artists at all, and as there has only been a couple of eligible artists (Ariana Grande, Britney Spears, Fleetwood Mac) previously entered it shouldn't be too difficult to find a suitable alternative.
However if your heart is set on repping as one of these, so be it.
When?
It all gets underway...
Sunday, 25 October
So there is loads of time to decompress from BotBIII, as well as pick someone suitable and plan your path to glory for this coming contest.
Up for Grabs!!!
The Champion not only walks away with the title, but pockets a cool
v$250,000
All that enter will get some part of a prize pool of over v$500,000!!!
Including:
v$50,000
Finalist
v$20,000
2 Semi-Finalists
v$10,000
4 Quarter Finalists
and additional prizes for winning Groups!
Get your thinking caps on!
Still have a few days while BotB III Finale is completed so there is no rush to submit artist choices (by PM ofc), although as always first in, first served in terms of laying claim to any particular artist.
New players are always welcome - the more the merrier - so join in on the craic!
Feel free to put down expressions of interest, questions etc in here.
Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues
or whatever you choose
It's all up to you...s.
(Errr... I'll get my coat)

As noted in the OP, they don't have to be female vocalists if you don't want, so long as at least 1 member of the chosen act is a woman. :50:
And there is no rush - just short of 2 weeks until it starts, so yeah... loads of time. :celt_2: -

There's a female duo from Glasgow called Honeyblood that are quite good. Pop punk/indie rock. Would have picked them but only 1 album so far.
