As i already said we should have moved him on after the euro's for the 10million , but i fully think we have done the right thing here , got rid of him at the right time , Staying here has cost a much bigger move ,
If he had worked on his game as much as he worked on taking the * out of the huns he would have been at Arsenal ,Man utd etc , instead he lost the plot , being away from here might settle him down and allow him to get his head back on to the game when he was at his best ,

i love this guy gonna be a big miss espescially at old firm games

who is gonna fly the flag at ibrox who is gonna make every rangers fan wish they had stayed in bed

and also who will get the team geared up (i know lennon thompson and mjalby will do that but i mean on the pitch when you cant hear their screams)

Niall McGinn admits Celtic will lose a hero and role-model when goalkeeper Artur Boruc completes his move to Fiorentina.
Boruc is to quit Parkhead after the Italian club confirmed they had agreed a fee with Celtic, with the 30-year-old ready to complete his move once he has passed a medical.
He has been a controversial character in the five years since his move from Legia Warsaw, making more than 200 appearances during that time.
McGinn fears his departure will leave a huge void in the dressing room but insists life will go on without the popular fans' favourite, who had a year left on his current deal.
"It's a disappointment because he has been here for a few years and he has served the club well," said the Celtic winger, as he promoted the club's new kit.
"He's a person someone like myself looks up to and he's a big hero with the fans so it's disappointing to see him going.
"He's a big player. He just goes about his own business and just gets on with things.
"Having a man like Artur around the squad is always good for the young boys like myself to look up to.
"But you've got to expect these changes in football and move on and push on and do the best for yourself."
Whether boss Neil Lennon now launches the search for a new number one remains to be seen.
But McGinn believes Boruc's fellow countryman Lukasz Zaluska is more than capable of claiming the gloves.
He said: "He came in a few times last season and played in a run of games when Artur was out injured or whatever.
"I think Lukasz is more than good enough to come in and follow in his footsteps."
Former skipper Stephen McManus also looks set for an imminent departure as he edges closer to a permanent move to Middlesbrough, following a successful loan spell at the Riverside in the second half of last season.
"Stephen has gone and that's a big disappointment," added McGinn.
"He has been here for years. I'm sure he wanted something done and dusted and it has worked out well.
"He has gone down there and will have a good pre-season with them after having had a good six months at Middlesbrough.
"It's good that he will the chance to push on with his own career."
McManus is the latest Scottish player to opt for a move to the Championship, with Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan having recruited several players from the SPL.
Kris Boyd moved to the Riverside recently, while his former Rangers team-mate Kevin Thomson appears likely to join him after reports that both clubs have agreed a fee.
"You can look at it from different angles," said McGinn of the recent exodus south of the border.
"The Championship is a more competitive league, whereas the Scottish league is really just between a few teams every season.
"It's not really nice to see Rangers running away with the title or Celtic running away with the title, although you're not complaining if you run away with the title when you're playing for Celtic.
"The Championship is a tough league though, and a lot of players want to go down there. It's also another step towards the Premiership."
McGinn's main aim right now is recovering from the metatarsal injury he sustained at the end of last season and ensuring he is fit and ready for action when the new campaign gets under way.
He said: "The manager just told me to take things easy and make sure I come back fully fit.
"I was glad after the Scottish Cup semi-final that he showed the faith in me when I was coming back from another injury and I played in a couple of games after that.
"My main concern is to get back as soon as possible and keep impressing him and get back in the first 11."

There is * nothing we can do about it, Its his choice for leaving and we will never ever know why unless he comes out and says. Its pretty obvious to me that its a money thing, especially if he,s going there for a back up keeper.

And another thing fiorentina are no were near bigger than us, as some poster reported, your dreaming pal, celtic are a much bigger club than fiorentina will ever been.

Its quite clear to me people that celtic have done the correct thing, a wouldnt have let him run his contract down and let him leave for * all, a also think celtic are not stupid, he was obviously offered a contract extension with the same money he was on and probly knocked it back......................... do some people on here think celtic are daft???? They would have got him to sign some how and then accepted a decent bid for him if one came in for him. Its clear that some things happend along the lines.

Instead they have saved there selves, 7 hunner grand in wages and got 1.7 million or so, well fair enough its garbage money considering what we could have got a few year, but we dont know the story, maybe he,s went to lennon and said he wants out???

Maybe lennons got something up his sleave??? in terms of getting money for him and mccmanus and then going after his own targets, keane or bellamy hopefully!!!!!!

Its clear there is something happening, we havnt splashed any cash and its mostly been freebies, but thats not a bad thing, a think a lot of people are going to love the new guys cha and ledley, not sure about mulgrew, suppose he will do a job, lennons went about his buissness pretty good, not sure about boateng to be honest a think when you turn down a club like celtic you should never ever get the chance again, and again a know zaluska is no were near borucs level, but if hopefully the defence gets strenghend and that will help a bit.

No it's no just you mate. I am really saddened to see Artur go. He was my favourite ever Celtic player and it just won't be the same next season without him between the sticks. It'll still be Celtic but it won't be the same.

utterly gutted to hear that Boruc has gone but on the other hand, to get 3 million for him makes good sense since its the last year of his contract though of course i'd rather still have the big man leave for nothing next year

best celtic goalkeeper of my lifetime. period. he will be sorely missed, i'll never forget that save from Saha, the winding up of the huns and (most of) his performances in a celtic jersey!

best of luck in italy artur, at least he wont have to put up with the bigoted bullshit he gets here!

hail hail the one and only holy goalie!

Apparantly the italian press are reporting boruc will be put out on loan by fiorentina. That is if he passes his medical. That can not be right, surely?!

Fiorentina need to get Frey off the wage bill and they are trying to ship him out somewhere thats why they need Artur so that could be true that if he wont leave maybe the new gaffer will keep him there and send Artur out?
Il take him back if its true:celt_2:

I think Freys set to join arsenal, so boruc is his replacement.

ARTUR Boruc wants a pay-off from Celtic before he agrees to his £3million transfer to Fiorentina.
The Serie A club and Celtic agreed a fee on Monday morning and it was expected the Polish keeper would fly straight to Italy to thrash out personal terms with Fiorentina.
But Record Sport can reveal Boruc's representatives have told Celtic they want a "loyalty payment" before he agrees to switch to Italy.
The amount of money involved isn't clear but could be in the region of £700,000.
And the 30-year-old has yet to fly to Florence to meet his new club which has upset the Italian side.
Boruc, who cost Celtic £650,000 in 2005, was due to earn around £32,000 per week from Celts for the final 11 months on his contract.
That added to the transfer fee means Celtic stand to gain around £4.5m from his departure and Boruc feels he wants a slice of the profit.
It's a request that has now become common place from players and it will be up to the Celtic powerbrokers if they agree to give Boruc a pay-off.
A source close to the deal said: "At the moment, there is a stand-off but some form of compromise is expected to be reached in the next 48 hours."

Absolute disgrace if true. All I can say is he would still be an unknown playing in Poland if we had not picked him up and gave him his big break.

    I hope its not true.
