If it is then why the need for the world Feminism? Egalitarianism is the very definition of what you're suggesting it's all about.

Each to their own Minty but I'm disappointed if you think that's a decent read. The world will never come together with people coming to the table with outlooks like that.

Simply because women have historically been disadvantaged. I don’t care what term people use, it essentially means the same thing to reasonable people.
The article? It’s interesting to hear different perspectives on such issues even if I don’t agree with everything being said.

Undoubtedly, as have blacks, Irish, LGBT, aborigines, travellers etc. etc.

Rather than have movements with narrow focuses solely for their groups why not accept that all discrimination is wrong and unite under the banner of Egalitarianism?

It is if they're rational and fair. That article is neither.

It's sneering and dismissive that there are issues that men face disproportionately more than women.

Which is exactly why some do not accept that feminism - or the militant part of it - is about equality. If it was then high profile individuals in the movement wouldn't be approaching the table with such narrow-minded views

Don't want to take the thread further off-piste than I already have but that's my opinion.

Implying a response from someone based on their gender and skin colour would have both sexist and racist undertones, yes.

Feminists have become the very thing they swore to get rid of.

I have no doubt that the vast majority of people who consider themselves feminists recognise that all discrimination is wrong. It's no more wrong for women to push for futher women's equality, than it is for people of colour to push racial equality. It would be great if everyone united under the same banner but realistically that's not going to happen.

I can only disagree strongly with your views of the article, it doesn't come across as sneering or irrational to me. It's actually highlighting the hilarious whataboutery of some of the trolls (MRA's) found online, in response to anything humorous or satirical posted by a self proclaimed feminist.

    You are clutching at straws.

Second sentence is silly, stop swallowing everything the alt-right tells you, or stop only paying attention to extreme militant feminists.

    Anything by Tony Robin's.
The Power of Habits & Atomic Habits
    Beliefs - Robert Dilts

Liked the general idea of the chimp paradox but it got confusing and didn't really come up with how make habitual change. Anyone who thinks logic and emotion can be separated, good luck.

What's your thoughts on the top two posted? I actually had a 3 book Robins bundle in my basket but decided not to get it. I read on Reddit someone saying that Robins is good "once you know what he is". Basically saying his books are shilling his audio work, which is a shill to get you to go to his seminars, which are a shill to get you to give him more money etc.

I'm a huge Robbins fan so my opinion will be slightly biased but I think they are brilliant. He talks very simply and cuts out a lot of the bull I feel others do. As for the seminars, not a fan....too american for me and that's where I draw the line.

The "habits" books for me are brilliant and helps get an understanding of how base and robotics we are. I preffered Atomic habits albeit the power of habits is more well known.

I'm into NLP in a big way so these books as well as other CBT books make a lot of sense to me. Probably our eras Dale Carnegie type of self help.
