    La Paz is at like 8500-9000ft I think... to compare, the highest point in the UK and Ireland is 4400 ft. Bolivia and Ecuador (who play in Quito) have traditionally had huge home field advantages because their players play in their domestic leagues and so are acclimated to the altitude. People who watch SA football a lot might be surprised by the scoreline, but definitely not by the result.

    Mexico used to be the same (much lower altitude, though) but most of their best players play in Europe now, so they are hurt just as much as the opposition.

    Paraguay are clear at the top, top 4 qualify and 5 team plays a play off, I can't see Brazil or Argentina falling below 5th though despite how bad Brazil have been lately.
