They're obviously very slick and well run but to lose 5-1 on aggregate with them barely breaking a sweat is * brutal.
There can be a middle ground of opinions between " they beat Roma 6-1" and them having not played in a couple of months and us having a bigger budget and that's pretty much where I am. We should be putting up more of a fight, it was a winnable tie.
It's fine to respect them and appreciate their past achievements and how good they are but stop acting like they are peak Barca. It annoys me aswell that people always bemoan our luck of the draw when we've had winnable ties in Europe recently like Ferencvaros, Copenhagen etc and shat the bed. It's okay to want better from your team, doesn't make you a bed wetter, panic merchant or a secret hun. Have some standards ffs.

 

Only just seen the highlights after missing it due to work. Absolutely criminal defending FFS.

 

Just seen Bodø have got Alkmaar in the next round, will be an interesting game.

Yeah the game in Norway is tonight and im super excited and nervous at once. Will be a great joy to watch and also maybe some sadness for the team that loses. All together it is a great draw an will be 2 great matches.

I see Celtic is still doing well in the league. Hope for you guys that you keep it up till the end.

I agree with you guys that Bodo Glimt has the better team, but much more important the far better coach.
So I also predict a win for Bodo.

 

I’ll definitely be watching, I see Alkmaar are in good form right now having only lost 2-3 times in the last 24 games mostly against Ajax.

 

True AZ is in far better shape then at the start of the season. Still they sold one of their few attractive, creative players (Albert Gudmundsson), so not much creativity left in the team. Only Jesper Karlsson who is a great winger. On the other side Bodo has a great winger with Ola Solbakken. Those 2 players are the players to watch.

Bodo Glimt has no injuries in their main team, but allmost no substitutes on the bench (midfield and defense). AZ misses one of their most important players in Midtsjo, but have more then enough players on the bench.

If it doesnt come off for jota, hed be an interesting alternative.

Don't look half the team against a side we beat , which in a way is worrying, wer we too lazy with our press, or not chasing back , wer we too open against them , or Did they really do their homework on us , watching wee bits of this and turned it over to recheck hun score , and they 3 up , they are fighting for everything, pressing well and defending well ,missed the 2 goals disallowed but can't help but feel impressed grudgingly , keep thinking they will get humped .

 

AZ are a good side and could have knocked us out over there tbf.

Knew it would be a close one over 2 legs.

 

Two good sides AZ and Bodo. AZ have lost their best player against us though In Koopmeiners, that second leg he was easily the best player on the park.

No surprise there were goals in the game as both teams are better offensively than defensively.

 

Teams didnt play their best football ever, but that was also because they neutralized the others team threats very well. Overall not a clear winner yet, but this game Bodo deserved the win imho. I really enjoyed the game and I hope you guys did also. The return will be close also because AZ then have Midtsjo & Clasie back (both midfield) and they play at home. So this can still go either way.

p.s. AZ still misses Koopmeiners very much. Such a quality player. No surprise he is doing so well in Italy.

 

He is a quality player and someone in that exact mould (obviously not going to be as good) that Celtic could do with to anchor our midfield. He’s physically strong, mobile, reads the game well and has a great passing range.

It’s a position in our team that we have quantity over quality. McGregor is a good player but better slightly further forward. McCarthy and Soro aren’t up to it, Ideguchi we haven’t seen much off but he isn’t the biggest physically and Bitton lacks the mobility and application at times.
