at the end of the day he was entitled to sit tight on the wages he should never have been offered in the first place but hey thats life . Injustice or not he has shown a real lack of desire which is a shame because i like him as a player but he has kinda spoiled the cult figure status he had achieved by looking as if he has only been here for the money and that was maybe his true *

Sums up the entire situation there folk. Excellent post. Not his fault he was offered the contract, but to sit tight full in the knowledge he was not going to get any football (as a professional footballer) was highly unprofessional and lacking in ambition.

i agree to a certain extent, but why should the guy be forced to sign a confidentiality agreement.

That's the part that makes me uneasy mate; the money he is on, it must surely have been worth saving in excess of 1 million in wages just to not have him sign a bit of paper.....if not, then i really do fear for the worst when he (finally) leaves.

Could be pretty damaging to Strachan and the club.

Nevertheless, i would always expect a player to first and foremost want to actually play....that's the most disappointing part for me.:54:

Aye mate, as a player he should want to play. but the fact he has gave up on that and is sticking to his guns makes me a bit uneasy too.

I really dont go for the opinion he is just sitting there picking up his wages with no concern for anything else. I think the guy has a story to tell, but hopefully it wont be too damaging in the grand scale of things.

thats hardly fair, he was a great footballer, and its not his fault we offered him 30k a week, and going to birmingham or sunderland is hardly ambitious

Toatl agree mate why does celtic want him to sign one if there is nothing to hide, something smells a bit fishy here and when the summer comes then we will find out as big bobo who has always made himself availible to the first team, will def comeout and tell us.

Unprofessionalism and ambition don't keep you in the mater to which you have been accustomed.

We offered him the contract and WGS:38: decided not to play him.

Would you change job for less money?

For my money the most solid (not gifted) CB we have had since Elliott, Mowbray, etc.

He will make a sound CB for some team.

Perhaps if he does not sign the confidentiality contract we may find out what happens behind those green doors ?

    Good luck to him.

A good point that has not really been raised so far. He has always made himself available and came in and done a decent job for a couppla weeks last season.

Apparently he trains hard everyday and plays in the reserves week in week out. I think its too easy for people to dismiss Bobo as being a money grabber, personally I think there is a lot more to it.

I'd change job if it meant i was in the shop window and i was looking to prolong my career, which is winding down, yes!

As it is, i'm sure he'll do a job for some team mate, but he has damaged his reputation amongst the fans - not all of them, obviously - and he will now have to find a club willing to pay hefty wages for a guy who has not played first team football in the best part of two years!

    Good luck indeed.

When his contract is up, Bobo will go running to the papers. More money for the gready *.

Not his fault Martin gave him the 4 year contract. But i will always remember the guy as a money grabber.

Good defender, we have had better over the last 10 year, we have had worse. That man aint worth half of the £32,000, he has been taking every week for the last 3 and half years.

He always said his family was settled in glasgow, u can bet your life tho, come July 1st the for sale sign will be outside the big mans house.

There will be a lot more to it he has been given the ultimatum go to who were selling you to or you wont play again same one kenny miller got only big bobo called his bluff.
Now if we arent going to play him you would have thought when brum came in for him offering him a deal on par with here he would have been thrown at them stuff your confidentiality agreement this suggest he has been mistreated in somekind of way especially since he wouldnt sign it.
Bobos no the best centre half ever but he didnt allow big strikers to bully him and using his football skills on the ground as an excuse for not playing him is a joke when mcmanus is in your back four hes every bit as bad with the ball at his feet and if that was the reason odea would have been in the team before as he is quite good with the ball at his feet certainly better than mick. ( not slating mick prefer he keeps it simple thats what a stopper should do allow the other defender to sweep up to cover and play the passes.) Definately some sort of strange going on even now you thing they d let him leave without the agreement, as he will blab the story at end of season anyway if there is one ?

Its such a shame the way its worked out given what a cult hero he was under MON

He's made it clear he won't sign the clause and is apparently sitting on his fat * to stick 2 fingers up at Celtic for that reason.

Wait and see him unleash his fury when he finally goes and the gag is off, should be interesting!!!

Don't expect fireworks whenever he does come out and gives us the 'seedy story' by the way.

Strachan wanted him off the wage bill, he knew that. So he treated him like a reserve and has done ever since.

I for one am sick of the leech, almost every ex pro and pundit to a man say the exact same thing. He should have moved and continued his career. Birmingham were offering him, if anything, a couple grand less.

That is the whole * problem! If your employer did that to you what the * would you do? It is totally illegal under employment law, just because an employers situation changes they have to be above board and pay you off. Dirty tactics are what lands you in employment tribunals and can sully one's reputation and I am not talking about Bobo.

If he wanted to he could probably take them to the flaming cleaners. I am sick of hearing how he is a money grabber. The bottom line is that had Strachan continued to play him now and again not one person would be moaning about him in the slightest. That may sound obvious but who's fault is it really? No but you see Strachan has been tasked with getting the wage bill down and riding the club of a former mistake. Do I blame WGS? Probably not because he was probably told this is the job, take it or leave it.

Most of the fans on here are only annoyed because Bobo is drawing big wages and we apparently need the wages to sign new players. Well I ask you this, who is to blame for that? The board on two counts, number one, they sanctioned Bobo's wages. Yes the great financial wizard that is Peter Lawell, he OK'd it. Count number two, it is not Bobo's job to worry about how much he is being paid or worry that his 'big' wages are stopping transfer activity.

So who is really to blame?
