The only "positive" way I can read this is that they are looking around and/or have someone specific in mind to take over in Jan. If Lennon went tomorrow, they'd probably have to appoint JK on a temporary basis and perhaps Desmond wants to get rid of NL/JK/GS in one go and let the new guy bring his own backroom team.

Our next 4 league games are home to Kilmarnock, Ross County, Dundee Utd + away to Hamilton. We also have the cup final - perhaps they are hoping that this will allow Lennon to go out on a "high" and we will scrape enough points that the league is still mathematically possible.

I think the league is gone (unless the Huns go broke) and I think it's pretty bad if we give the job to someone in Jan and pressurize them to win the league. If someone comes in in Jan, I'm looking for them to reset the club for next season - if they turned it around and did 10IAR - Fantastic - but it would be unfair to blame someone else for Lennon's abysmal performance.

In the real world, they are probably hoping that even this team will be able to scrape wins against 4 teams in the bottom 6 and win the cup final against against a Championship team. Then they'll say that Lenny has "turned it round" and we'll keep him for the season - just in time for the Huns to give us a hiding on 2/1.

The only glimmer of hope we had was if we got rid of Lennon and brought in a fresh face. This should have happened after the Huns game because the writing was on the wall. I said after the board backed him after the Ross County game that we had gifted the Huns the title, and that's exactly what we have done. We have more chance of finishing third than we do winning the league with Lennon in charge.

It could be a manager that had some sort of clause that meant he gets a pay off from old club if he doesn't take another job within a specific time frame.

It's all conjecture anyway, PL don't work that way.

Says everything about our board having no plan B. Did they learn nothing after Rodgers dropped them in it.

What would have happened if the manager was in hospital long term, had a serious incident ie Jackie Mac or had a fatality.

And if someone is not available until January then why not see what John Kennedy has about him.. he has been hanging around like a bad smell for an awful long time.

Our board dont really give a * about the product on the park or the wishes of the fans.. only that we keep handing over cash and dont ask awkward questions at the AGM

You nailed it.. and the pumping we will get on Jan 2 is so clear to see..

Paper over the cracks and hope for the Huns to implode.. what a desperate strategy.

Clinging on to desolate hope that we somehow start winning again and they start getting dodgy draws here and there, pressure ramps up on them, they implode = 10

But at the moment with Lennon in charge of team affairs, just playing a game and winning 3 points is a big ask.

I think the ‘we’ll review in January’ is code for ‘we’re sacking Lenny then and getting the new man in’. I * hope so, because I can’t stomach another Lenny 11 against them.

    Edit: nah, actually, we’re *

Email sent to JP stating I’ll not be back to Celtic park or buying any merchandise as long as the board remain. Also requested a refund form for last season. Would encourage every ST to do the same, the only way these * will take notice. First game back with fans will be toxic.

Charlie Nicholas reckons Celtic chief Peter Lawwell will leave Parkhead this season.

The Hoops board last night gave Neil Lennon a second public vote of confidence in response to a chain of poor results.

And the recent backing of the Celtic boss has resulted in criticism from a large portion of Celtic supporters, who would like to see Lennon axed.

Charlie Nicholas belives standards have slipped at his former club and he rekcons that will force Lawwell out of Parkhead this summer.

He told the Daily Express: "Good luck to the board. They seem to have backed themselves into a corner.

"We've been seeing aggravation from Celtic fans after matches, which is abysmal.

"They are demanding answers and solutions but they don't seem to be getting any.

"I have not liked the leadership of the club for a long time.

"I think Peter Lawwell will leave this season and I wouldn't be surprised if one of Dermot Desmond's sons replaced him.

"Celtic's demise has been on the cards and I've taken a lot of personal hits when pointing this out, with clowns on social media attacking me.

"I am not on social media, so I don't respond. This is where I voice my opinion.

"The board, Lawwell and Desmond are getting battered and it confuses me that so many people at the club haven't, like me, seen this coming.

"Now all we are going to get is the blame game.

"When Brendan Rodgers quit, Lennon inherited such a fabulous set-up that he couldn't fail.

"I applauded Lenny because he took things on, did things right and didn't change too much.

"This Celtic team had been fuelled by dominance but now that they are being asked different questions they have failed to come up with the answers."

He continued: "The Celtic players got coached to death by Rodgers about getting the ball and moving it.

"Even for me, it was too slow at times but it was successful and it led to total domination.

"That standard has now melted away.

"You can blame the board for letting it happen and Lennon is also responsible because he has been too weak in letting everything go on around him.

"Celtic needed to build their reputation in Europe again and they certainly haven't done that.

"This season they are already out of the Champions League, Europa League, Betfred Cup and, by Lennon's own admission, their title hopes are hanging by a thread."

understand it’s Charlie ridiculous but I and many believed Pete would leave this season hence why he ain’t giving a *. The part about that article which isn’t exactly surprising but a shambles is Lawwell will be replaced by one off Desmonds sons , Jobs for the boys and all that.

    Edit- Wrong Thread

There were already question marks over the playing style getting found out domestically under Rodgers near end of 2nd season we also lost to the huns shortly after ,got beaten by Lennons hibs and drew a few with them as well , in Europe the style failed totally against the bigger clubs , we got by domestically cauz ajer was helping to unlock the blocking tactics used after selling Armstrong who was another player who unlocked packed defensive structures , so it wasn't perfect wot Lennon inherited.

So these * have now had every anti board/Lennon banner removed, but left a LENNON IN banner up.

Our opinion doesn't matter unless it is the same as theirs!!!

I utterly detest these * more than ever!!!!!

The board doesn't give a * about the fans all they care about is how much money they can rinse out us. Shameless *
