Just back from a wee break and the place is an absolute shitehole, I remember going as a kid and also when I was 19 and it was magic.the hotels on the promenade and all the streets behind are full of run down dumps in need of major repair. I'll give it 20 yr and the place will be a ghost town.it was also full of trouble making fat gypsy wedding lookalikes, such a shame for a place that gives me great memories.

It seems to be caught in a 40 year time warp, badly needs a facelift.
I think it's still pretty good fun during the day :- pleasure beach, tower, circus etc, but the place just seems to die at night.
There are very few pubs on the main promenade and the clubs are full of local bangers with 7 fingers on each hand. -
Englands very own Larkhall. :smiley-laughing002: -
The local council needs to invest heavily to sort it out.

The rollercoasters are decent, that's what I remember about that place

Absolute dump, hate the place, thankfully I have only been in it twice in 30 years, although you lot seem to enjoy it

You went for a mini break... I have to * live here!! :38:
I completely agree with everything that has been said though. It is in need of a major revamp but the council just don't want to spend at all. Apart from doing a few potholes up here and there. It can still be a decent night out now and again. But it's rare.
You can get a hotel room at £20 a night. That says it all really the whole town is struggling -

Went with my girlfriend for a weekend mate. Agree, not been since I was a wee lad but it has went right downhill.
Out of season, the place i deserted and nothing is open - not a chippy, curryhouse, a shop. The shops don't stay open any later than 8!
The people were really nice mind you. However its a pretty sad area now.
Very run down. -
