Are we still linked with Billy Sharp.I really hope we are.
He's only 21 and scored 30 goals this season. If he's doing that in League 1 at that age he could certainly score a lot of goals in the SPL.Sharp is the type of player we desperatley need,a goal poacher.:34:
He wouldn't cost too much[about 2 million] and would probably jump at the chance to join Celtic:50:

Who the * is Billy Sharp?
I can imagine the uproar from the usual suspects if WGS plucked a striker from league 1.
Never gonnae happen. -

Sharp signed for Sheffield United as a schoolboy in 2002 but failed to establish himself in manager Neil Warnock's squad. In 2005, he went on loan to Rushden and Diamonds playing 16 games and scoring an impressive 9 goals. After returning from his loan spell Sharp made one substitute appearance for United before he was sold to Scunthorpe United for £100,000 in 2005. He soon became a firm favourite at Glanford Park scoring 24 goals in his first season with the league one club.
Sharp netted 31 times in the league in 2006/07 guiding his team to promotion into the Coca Cola Championship. He scored a header in the televised defeat to Aston Villa, which only served to enhance his reputation across the nation.
In October 2006 there was speculation of Premiership scouts keeping track of the young striker, as well as team mate Andy Keogh. This rumour surfaced yet again towards the end of the month when ex-Manchester City boss, Stuart Pearce was spotted in the crowd during Scunthorpe United's League One victory against Leyton Orient, a game in which Billy scored twice. He has also been linked with a move to Sheffield Wednesday after his manager at Scunthorpe, Brian Laws moved to the club. This is despite being a known Sheffield United fan (although he said he would never return to the club under Neil Warnock). More recently he has been touted as a possible Mark Hughes signing, an unnamed Blackburn Rovers messageboard having been inundated with information regarding Sharp, most apparently generated by a Southern based agency, WSR.
Sharp scored the 50th goal of his career in the 2-0 win at Carlisle United on 9 December 2006. He was featured on ITV's The Championship, and Scunthorpe United chairman Steve Wharton recently claimed he would reject a bid of 2 million pounds for Sharp.
He is a fan of rapper 50 Cent and occasionally plays golf.
As of 19th May 2007, he heads the list of top League scorers in all 4 divisions of the League, with 31 goals. He should eventually achieve this honour - the list of past winners includes Jimmy Greaves, George Best, Alan Shearer and Thierry Henry.
Sharp broke the 45 year old club record for most goals scored in a season on 28 April 2007. Barrie Thomas was the previous holder -
Billy sharp sounds like a Beano charachter 'Billy Sharp..he loves to cut people'

53 goals in 83 appearances for Scunthorpe between the ages of 19-21

Why we already have Kenny Miller.:fear:
-
Its a league one player......2m? * off.
Would rather have Fletcher/Naismith. -
He's a great player, would be a brilliant signing for us!
-
Why on this grassy green earth would we pay that much for a player thats only playing in League 1?
-
Because he is an amazing player..
Why would we pay 2.5Mill for a players in the Polish League?
Because Magic and Boruc are good players! -
well it happens you know theres a good player out there for a bargain but it's the clubs choice but one of mine came true, JVOH he was my bargain player.
I wanted him to sign around 2.5 years ago never expected it to happen.
